Benefit Cosmetics Fake Up

It has long waited for me to visit the Benefit Cosmetics counter at Smith & Caughey on Queen street.  So after work at university this Saturday afternoon, I walked down in the cold bitter wind because I know it is worth it.  I looked around and there were girls everywhere checking out the products, getting their brows done, etc.  Initially, I didn’t plan on getting my brows done, but as I was looking through the products, I see the Benebabes doing a great job on the customer’s brows and they all look so happy!  So I ‘walk in now’ and I ‘walk our WOW’.  They fit me in for a brow wax and tried some products on my face.

Where I got it: I got this from the Benefit Cosmetics counter at Smith & Caughey on Queen street (Auckland).  The brow wax is $29 and the Fake Up is $45.

What I got: Fake Up is a hydrating crease-control concealer.  The hydrating formula containing apple seed and vitamin e is the outside ring and the concealer pigment is the inside core. It claims to provide a smooth and refreshed natural look, hides dark circles and diffuses fine lines. Comes in 3 shades and 02 medium is my shade!

How I find it: The Benebabe applied the concealer on my under eye directly from the tube and the blended out with a makeup sponge.  Instantly my dark circle is diffused (not entirely covered, because that would look really unnatural) and it doesn’t look cakey at all!  It does look a little yellow on my skin, but when blended out, it looks very natural.

Overall: Very hydrating and moisturising concealer, it glides on and melts into the skin.  Not sticky to the touch, but silky smooth.  However after a few hours of use on my oily skin, it does fade a little bit 🙁 But I am sure it would work great for normal or dry skin perfectly!  When I saw the Fake Up, it reminded me of my Body Shop ‘Concealer all in one’ with the concealer on the outer ring and the moisturiser in the core.  The body shop is less moisturising, but more coverage.  I guess that’s obvious by the moisturiser to concealer ratio!

Repurchase? Yeeeah! First I love the packaging, secondly, I love how moisturising it is.  But with 3 shades, I think it may be hard for everyone to find a great match.
