LUSH Santa’s Lip scrub and Santa Baby Lip tint

Where I got it: I got both of these from the LUSH Christmas 2013 preview in August. These will be available in early October in LUSH stores nationwide (New Zealand)! Prices as below.

What I got: This is a 25g tub of Santa’s Lip scrub and a 8g tin of Santa Baby Lip tint. Both of them are special Christmas editions. The Christmas red theme is really pretty!

How I find it: It is my first lip scrub and lip tint from LUSH so my first impression of the lip scrub was pretty good because it smelt like cola, had little edible red hearts and it the entire lip scrub is edible meaning you can lick it off after scrubbing (sceptical but I’ll try it for reviewing’s sake!) As for the lip tint, the packaging is not my favourite, but this lip tint is super pigmented and very versatile!

Santa’s Lip scrub $12.50 for 25g: I apply this over moist lips so that the scrub is not too harsh on my lips. I dig a small amount with my fingers and rub it across my lips with my index finger. I licked it off the first time and it was sweet (ingredients: sugar, ). Not really my thing to do licking non-food things off my lips so second time and onwards, I wiped it off with tissues. After wiping (or licking) off, my lips feel plump and red (after scrubbing) and dead is a removed and feels much smoother. I would use this when I have to wear a matte lipstick or a lipstick that is quite drying.

Top: Lip tint on the left, natural lips on the right. Bottom: Lip tint on entire lips

Santa Baby Lip tint $12.50 for 8g: This lip tint is really pigmented. When I opened it for the first time, it looks like pressed pigment, but when I press my finger onto the lip tint, it was rather solid. I use a lip balm to prep my lips, then I use my index finger to rub in the lip tint. A little goes a long way and it is a lovely bright red.

Overall: I would suggest to use the lip scrub over the sink because it can get a little messy. I would also recommend using it with a bit of lip balm I use Papaw Ointment) so that the lip scrub sticks to you lips more than fall off, but just remember NOT to lick it off if you do use it with a lip balm! The lip tint is super pigmented and small in the handbag, I would take it travelling because it is in a solid form so no spilling of liquid or powder. It also doubles as a blush!
