Weleda Sea Buckthorn Creamy Bodywash and Body lotion

Where I got it: I got sent these for review but you can buy these from the Weleda shop online or a search for stockists here.

What I got: This is a bottle of Sea Buckthorn creamy body wash and body lotion from Weleda. Also comes in Pomegranate, Citrus and Wild Rose. The golden-red Pulp Oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, carotenoids and Vitamin E. The Seed Oil is primarily comprised of unsaturated essential fatty acids, including Linoleic and Linolenic Acids. Sea Buckthorn Oil, made up of Beta Cerotene, Provitamin A and Vitamin E, helps protect the skin from UV radiation and free-radical damage. These easily absorbed oils support the natural buildup of the skin’s lipid layers and possess anti-inflammatory properties.

How I find it:

Creamy body wash $19.90 for 200ml: I use this creamy body wash with my hands as it doesn’t lather up. The creamy texture is like cleansing milk for the body. The body wash is easy to rinse off without leaving slippery residue on the skin or on the shower floor. It is a very comfortable body wash that leaves your skin with just the right about of moisture. Smells really nice too, I think it smells citrus-y. The name sounds really marine-like so I was expecting something funky.

Body lotion $36.90 for 200ml: The body lotion smells the same and it is quite moisturising but without feeling thick and sticky. The bottle design is very ergonomic and the dispensing cap is quite interesting! the lotion comes out around the round button. The lotion is absorbed quickly but leaves a very comfortable film of protection on the skin to prevent moisture loss. The scent is not overwhelming and does not linger too long.

Overall: I love the scent and how it gives a good amount of moisture. I was looking for a more relaxing scent that would bring me to sleep or something soothing. I like using the body wash when the weather is a bit dry and I don’t want to be stripping off too much moisture with a super-cleansing body wash. The body lotion is suitable for my normal skin during winter/spring, but come summer, I would need a lighter body moisturiser.
