Where I got it: I was sent this for consideration. Australis Cosmetics are available from Farmers, Kmart and leading pharmacies. These are RRP$15.00.
What I got: I was sent 2 Australis Cosmetics Velourlips Matte Lip Cream in Doo-Bai and Ro-Ma. These are new colours to add to the existing range of colours (makes it a total of 15 shades). Velourlips Matte Lip Cream are highly pigmented lip cream that takes it to the next level with its beautiful matte finish! The creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with its doe foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense, full coverage colour payoff. Perfect for when you want lasting, matte colour that moves with your lips without flaking.
How I find it:
Doo-Bai Sophistication required? A deep burgundy tone to match the lavish Dubai lifestyle. I love this deep burgundy shade! It is such a sophisticated colour and creates such a statement lip! It is highly pigmented – as soon as it is dried it is quite hard to remove and it leaves a nice berry tint to the lips.
Ro-Ma. Pucker up in Italy’s city of love with this candy pink shade. I absolutely hate this shade on me! No matter how I apply it, it is too pale for my natural lip colour. It looks horrible on me! The formula is quite different to Doo-bai as it is really streaky and you can see the applicator strokes easily and it brings out all my lip lines! I gave this one away as soon as I have swatched it.
Overall: I love the dark or vibrant colours instead of the pastel light colours. They also have metallic versions and I absolutely love them! You can wear them as they are, apply a small amount and blend with fingertips for a more subtle look or apply, wait then wipe for a stained effect! The creamy formula feels great on the lips and doesn’t make my lips feel dry, but a velvety feeling. The darker the shade, the less obvious the lip lines it accentuates. Great for when you want lasting colour and vibrant, bold look! Would love to try next: Rio-D, NY-Cee, Mi-A-Mee, Bar-Tha-Lona and Shang-Hi! Downside can be that it is quite hard to remove.. To completely remove it, I would need to use a lip makeup remover on a cotton pad, then cotton buds, then use a lip scrub and use a lip balm and wipe with tissues.
