Where I got it
I was send this by the lovely team at Althea as part of their Angels program where we get to try their new Althea exclusive products and other new launches. This is another new product from Althea soon after their Sunaway sunscreen (which is amazing!). This retails for USD$8 and is exclusive on Althea – either their website or from their app.
What I got
This is a 50ml bottle of the Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask. From the althea website: Give your skin a big gulp of hydration with the refreshing peeling powers of Althea’s Milk Peel Cream Mask! Containing both AHA and BHA extracts, this gentle but effective exfoliator transforms from a clay to a whipped cream lather, whisking away dead skin cells to prevent flakiness. It’s also formulated with casein protein from milk to revitalize and moisturize the skin. The result is radiantly smooth, healthy skin that’s bouncy to the touch!
How I find it
After cleansing my skin, I pat dry my skin and quickly squeeze out a decent amount of product onto my fingers. Then I spread the product evenly all over my skin trying not to go over areas as the clay-like texture mask bubbles up pretty much in 3 seconds.
After about a minute of bubbling (makes you face very itchy), you can see the bubbles starts to fade out. It’s time to wash it off with warm water. It does need a bit of massaging or a wash cloth to help remove the clay mask. I think you can leave the clay mask for a few more minutes to penetrate deeper and draw out impurities as well.
Overall
After washing the mask off, my skin feels really soft and smooth! After pat drying my skin, it almost feels like my skin is powdery smooth which is strange, yet interesting. I would say you can use this 1-2 times a week as it is a super gentle chemical exfoliator and that you won’t need to use it every single day because it does such a good job that you don’t need to use it so often.
My tips for using this is do 5-6 pumps of the product onto your fingertips (airless pump, but due to the creamy clay texture, it is not as easy to get a full pump each time). Then spread between fingertips of both hands and quickly and even spread the product all over the face. Since the formula bubbles up super fast, you don’t want to disrupt the bubbles once it forms, so you don’t want to go over where there is product already. Otherwise, spread over the face section by section.
