Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser

Where I got it

I have been on the Althea Angels ambassador program for over 6 months now and they have launched some pretty awesome products at amazingly affordable prices. To be honest, if I were a normal consumer, having not heard of these products before, I probably won’t buy it. The packaging is nice, but not eye-catching.

However, after trying these for myself, I would like to try all of their products and repurchase these myself. This is the first repurchase of two of my recent favourite products – the Sunaway sunscreen and the Milk Peel Cream Mask. I also ordered their brand-spanking new Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser (which is something I have never tried before – serum cleanser??. Anyway, Althea had a free international shipping offer if you purchase their Althea Exclusive products so I grabbed all these! The Serum Cleanser is RRP USD$8.00.

What I got

I got a 150ml bottle of the Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser. Combine the powers of a cleanser and serum with Althea’s Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser! This product also helps to balance the pH levels of the skin to keep it working in tip-top shape! Best of all, it’s gentle on the face and suitable even for those of us with sensitive skins. 

Mint leaf extract – Cools down the skin and soothes irritations 

Jojoba seed oil – Deeply moisturizes any dryness without feeling heavy 

Tea tree leaf extract – Has antibacterial properties that purify the skin

How I find it

The instructions on the Althea website states to use this on damp skin, but the texture of this cleanser is fluid and watery, I find it tough to spread this on my damp skin. So I tried using this on dry skin which I think is so much better. I just pour a decent amount of the cleanser on to palms and apply directly to my skin. Massage with fingertips as this fluid texture feels almost like a clear lotion, it will not be hard to move around.

This cleanser does not foam or lather up at all. I tried using water to lather yo between my palms and it simply does not. Rinse off is also easy and doesn’t leave a film on the skin or make the skin feel slippery.

Overall

This is a very interesting cleanser, the texture is almost like an essence lotion and it doesn’t lather up at all, not even turn white and thick when rubbed together. I find that applying this on damp skin is a little hard to move around, so I prefer using this on dry skin. It cleanses my skin without drying it out and without leaving any greasy film on top. I like to use this in the morning as this cleanser is rather gentle and my skin is relatively clean in the morning.
