Where I got it: Dr Hauschka has recently released a set of 5 greatly scented body washes and I lucky to be sent one to try and review (thank you Janet!) from Dr Hauschka NZ (follow them on twitter). These are available from most Farmers and pharmacies (click here to search for your local stockists) for $29. Great as a gift or a luxury treat for you once in a while 🙂
What I got: I got a 200mL bottle of the new Dr. Hauschka Lemon Lemongrass Vitalizing Body Wash. The revitalizing fragrance of fresh roof ginger, lemon and lemongrass is certainly a great pick-me-up in the morning shower. It also comes in Almond (soothing), Lavender Sandalwood (calming) and Rose (nurturing).
How I find it: I first used it at night and the scent of lemon was so refreshing! It smells like the Melissa Day Cream! The body wash is lightweight and lathers into a creamy foam (I would recommend using a puff to create a good lather). On the skin it feels soft and lotion-like. Washing off is easy and it doesn’t leave a slippery residue on my skin. It leaves my skin clean and soft and smelling nice.
Overall: This is a very nice body wash, I love the fragrance I would just bathe in it! I wouldn’t use it everyday, but I would use it when I need a pick-me-up! The scent is not very long lasting which some people prefer, but personally I would like the scent to stay that’s why I think it would be great to finish it off with the Lemon Lemongrass Body moisturizer because it did leave my skin a bit dry (especially during the winter nights) and the scent will last longer. (Update 19/6/13: the scent is because Dr Hauschka uses 100% natural and organic essential oils. No perfume, chemicals, so it doesn’t have the staying power of synthetic chemical perfumes. Therefore body oil or moisturizer is very good)
Purchase? Yes! It would make a great gift to my sisters/friends or even myself! I think I would go for the Lavender Sandalwood scent because I usually take a shower at night and would love to relax after a long day’s work (I also checked it out at Farmers and I love the smell!
Let me know which scent you’ve tried and did you like it?
