Last month before I flew out to Hong Kong and Japan for my holiday, I attended the Bobbi Brown Summer Collection Media Event at their Britomart store. It was my first time in the Britomart store and the fitout was beautiful. They had lovely glass shop fronts and a lovely back area for customers to sit down for skincare consultations and bridal events, etc.
I was greeted by Jessica Carew and Kai Vinson (Bobbi Brown’s make-up artist for the Asia-Pacific area) with a glass of refreshing soda. After some browsing around the store checking out the new products and Bobbi Brown’s exciting range, Jessica started introducing Kai to all of us (beauty bloggers and beauty editors).
Kai then went through all the new products to be launched in Feburary 2014. Amnesia Rose is a collaboration with designer L’Wren Scott with a limited edition make-up palette (complete with blush, eyeshadow and lipgloss) as well as 4 new lipstick shades. Another new collection is the Uber Pink which is a collection of sheer blush pinks. Also new on counter will be Art Sticks which are the popular crayon-like pencils (like Clinique Chubby Sticks and Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains), these are quite different to the usual ones out there because they are matte and are versatile (use them for lips and cheeks) and they come with a jumbo sharpener! CC Cream is also about to come onto Bobbi Brown’s counter which is a color-correcting primer that provides a sheer correcting base for the BB cream or foundation. One of my favourite new collection would be the Nude Glow, where the collection contains brightening powders for different skin tones, nude and neutral shades for the lipsticks, lipglosses and eyeshadow quads.
Overall, I am quite excited for the Art Sticks and the Nude Glow collection as the Art Sticks have a good range or red toned lip products which I love wearing and the Nude Glow collection has these beautiful brightening powders which I also love! I am loving the natural skin look with low to medium coverage, simple eye makeup and a pop of colour to the lips at the moment.
At the end of the event, I had to dash out the door for a dinner appointment, final packing and catching my flight! But not to mention I opened the goodie bag pretty much right away to find 2 lovely lipsticks, some skincare samples and some beautiful brochures of new collections coming to Bobbi Brown stores in April (foundation sticks, face cream, etc. so exciting!).
So the 2 lip products I’ve got was one of the 12 new shades of the Lip Color in Berry shimmer, and one of the 3 new lipsticks from the Nude Glow collection in Pink Gold. Both retails for NZD$54. These lip products are already at the counters, so go and try them out for yourself!
Above: New shades in Bobbi Brown’s iconic Lip Color – Berry Shimmer. The 12 new shades combine high-shine emollients and light-reflective pearls is sheer and multi-dimensional. The lip color feels lightweight and moisturising.
Above: Swatch for Berry Shimmer. The shade is very similar to my natural lip color, but deeper. I love it.
Above: Limited Edition Sheer Lip Color in Pink Gold. Comes in 2 other colors: Pink Rose and Pink Flush. The lightweight formula offers a hint of color on the lips. It is really moisturising and comfortable to wear. It has a hint of shimmer and the finish is a little on the frosty side.
