Where I got it: I got this from Baby Factory for $20.99. You can find this at selected pharmacies, Baby Factory, Baby City, etc.
What I got: This is a 37g tube of Medela Purelan 100. It contains 100% pure lanolin oil formulated to sooth sensitive, cracked nipples and dry skin. This is safe to use on baby’s skin to soothe dry skin. I was at Birthcare after giving birth to my baby boy last week and the midwives there recommended this to pretty much every mother for cracked nipples. It is hypoallergenic, contains no preservatives and additives. There is no need to wipe off before breastfeeding.

How I find it: It is in a form of a waxy-balm which is super hard to squeeze out from the tube, I would think it should be better in a tub instead of a tube (probably because the temperature is cold?). You only need the smallest amount to each nipple. If I were to use it for my baby’s skin, I work it loose with my fingertips, then I massage it onto the dry areas. It does look greasy, but it is suppose to be a bit of a barrier to promote natural healing. I would apply everytime baby feeds.

Overall: This Purelan works wonders! I am so glad I got some. It works for me and it works for baby’s skin. This tube will last us for a long long time (maybe even for the next baby!). One thing they need to improve on is packaging, otherwise I swear by it.
