Where I got it: I got this from Origins.com for USD$24.00. I also got the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask along with a few samples. So my shopping on Oringins came to a total of NZD$57.37. They do not shop to New Zealand but I am using Youshop by New Zealand post to ship from US to NZ! Shipping charges from Youshop is NZD$22.00. Therefore my shopping came to a total (including shipping) of NZD$79.37.
What I got: This is a 100ml tube of Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. When environmental toxins, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature’s complexion clean-up crew gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that “stuff” down there, skin “breathes a sigh of relief.”
How I find it: After cleansing, I apply a good layer of this mask all over my face to the point I cannot see my own skin. The clay mask has a gel-like texture that glides onto the skin smoothly (love the texture). Leave for the mask to dry (about 15 minutes during winter), then rinse off with warm water. You could use a wash cloth to help with removal, but it is rather difficult to remove the color from the wash cloth. If I have time, I would follow with a hydrating or moisturising mask like Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask.
Overall: I love the texture of this mask, it is not a dry and thick clay based mask, instead it is gel-like and glides on easily. Even though it dries down hard, it doesn’t feel over-drying on the skin at all. After washing off, my skin feels smoother and my blackheads have reduced. My skin can feel a little dry after washing off, so I follow this with the A con to this mask is that it does need some work to wash it off and it can make your basin a bit dirty and you have to clean it up afterwards. I wouldn’t use a wash cloth to remove it unless you are prepared to have a dirty looking wash cloth.
