Where I got it: This is a prize I won from a giveaway held by Makeup Obsessives and Loft Beauty Boutique.
What I got: The prize of the giveaway was a skincare consultation with Lisa from Loft Beauty and an Aspect skincare starter kit. However I was just a little tied up with my new born baby I couldn’t head over to their lovely boutique. Lisa was nice enough to explain to me the products in this starter pack and that it was suitable for all skin types. So the starter kit contains: a 50ml Purastat 5 Cleanser, a 30ml Extreme C 20 Vitamin C Serum, a 30ml Exfol L 15 Serum and a 15g Phytostat 9 Moisturiser (both serum are full size products). Aspect is a cosmeceutical skincare range that has been expertly engineered with the latest cutting edge optically pure actives from medical science and nature to protect, nurture, revitalise, and cosmetically restructure your most precious asset. Aspect promises to deliver the youthful glowing skin and complexion that you so desire in no time at all. Working with mother nature and never against her, Aspect cosmeceuticals uses where possible certified organic ingredients free of pesticides, parabens, perfumes and dyes, because skin in need should be nurtured and never tortured. And naturally Aspect is never tested on animals.
How I find it:
Purastat 5 Cleanser ($69 for 240ml) is a clear gel cleanser with a hint of blue. This cleanser thoroughly the your skin of imbedded dirt, makeup, excess sebum and damaging pollutants by using a gentle blend of sugar and coconut extracts to cleanse and detoxify whilst remaining totally respectful of your skins natural bio-lipidic barrier so as never to strip, dehydrate or overly dry your skin. It renews the skin by unclogging congested pores, restores the skin by removing dull surface cells, restores skin hydration and protects the skin with calming botanicals. I use 3 pumps onto damp hands with a bit of warm water to lather up then massage gently onto damp face. Rinse off. I often repeat if I have been wearing makeup or sunscreen (this is not a makeup remover, you have to remove makeup first). The cleanser smells really nice like oranges and leaves my skin feeling clean but does not strip my skin of natural oils. Lightly pat my face with a face cloth and then I apply the Extreme C Vitamin C serum while the skin is still a little damp.
Extreme C 20 Vitamin C Serum ($128.80 for 30ml) is a milky white fluid serum. This serum tackles just about every sign of dermal ageing you care to imagine and does so from every conceivable angle, thanks to an exclusive breakthrough combination of cutting edge amino peptides, face saving vitamin C, cellular antioxidants, corrective botanicals and skin energizing extracts – all expertly blended into a light as air, paraben and fragrance free transcellular serum. The serum smells exactly like the cleanser. 1 pump will be sufficient for the entire face. It spreads on the skin easily and does not feel sticky or greasy.
Exfol L 15 Serum ($87.40 for 30ml) is a clear liquid serum with a fluid consistency. This serum contains Alpha hydroxy Acids (AHA’s). AHA’s work their magic by accelerating the skins natural cell renewal cycle by invisibly lifting away the excess accumulation of dull devitalised surface skin cells thereby revealing a smoother clearer, brighter, healthier looking surface layer, with more refined looking pores, and fewer visible imperfections. 1 pump is enough for the entire face and it is recommended to be used over or mixed in with the Extreme C 20 Vitamin C Serum. Use only at night time. This serum also spread onto the skin easily and is absorbed quickly without irritation or residue. It is recommended to be used 2 nights in a row, then every other night because of its AHA ingredient and levels.
Phytostat 9 Moisturiser ($87.40 for 50g) feels like an ordinary moisturiser. The 4 in 1, intelligent cream that adjusts to the specific needs of your skin 24/7 to dramatically restore vital moisture reserves, ward off the visible signs of ageing and cosmetically correct the effects of time in no time at all. Milky white in colour, this cream does not feel thick or greasy. Applied as the last step out of the 4 products day and night, it seals in all the goodness from the serums. I would wear something with a minimum of SPF 30 during the day to protect my skin. This moisturiser smells amazing! It reminds me of the lovely floral scent a beauty salon has! The scent surely has some therapeutic qualities! Absolutely a treat to use.
Overall: First off, totally unrelated to the review of the products but Lisa Morris from Loft Beauty Boutique is such a lovely lady! She is so helpful and kind! As for the products itself, the starter kit is such a great way to be introduced to a new brand and new skincare regime. This serum and moisturisers in this kit will last me a good 2 to 3 months because I use up these types of product quite slow! The cleanser however, won’t last me too long. The packaging looks really impressive, the silver bottles with the twist up pump dispenses the perfect amount each time. It also locks to prevent accidental spilling and is great for travelling! The consistency of the cleanser, serum and moisturiser is easy to spread and a little goes a long way! The scent is refreshing and does not irritate my skin at all. You have to be just a little careful with the Exfol L 15 serum because it does contain AHA which can irritate people with sensitive skin if you are not used to it. Make sure you follow the instructions from the pack or from your salon therapist for usage! The first few days of using a whole new set of skincare, my face broke up just a little around the chin area. I was also a little sensitive to the Exfol L 15 where my skin was a little red and itchy. That faded within half a day and has not bothered me anymore. My skin is slowly improving with better texture.
