Where I got it: This is a pr sample sent to me for consideration. Karen Murrell lipsticks are available from selected pharmacies, health stores and online for $30.00.
What I got: This is Karen Murrell lipstick in 08 Coral Dawn. This is Karen’s description of Coral Dawn: “Coral Dawn breaths sunshine. Even applying this colour makes me feel warm and sun-kissed”. All Karen Murrell lipsticks contain candelilla, evening primrose oil and castor oil. They are made from natural based ingredients. They do not contain any mineral oils, animal-based material, parabens or preservatives.nshine. Even applying this colour makes me feel warm and sun-kissed.”
How I find it: I am already a fan of Karen Murrell’s vibrant, darker shade lipsticks (the pale shades don’t really work well on my pigmented lips and yellow-toned skin). I would say that the formula is moisturising but the lighter shades will catch into the crevasses of my lips thus looks pretty redic. This Coral Dawn is a coral-red shade that has a blue undertone (makes my teeth look whiter). I use a lip balm before this lipstick to give it a bit more slip because this lipstick is quite pigmented and can be a little dry when first applied. With the help of a lip balm, the lips are primed and the lipstick pigment glides on easier and will not catch into dry areas that much. Exfoliating also helps.
Overall: I have tried many other Karen Murrell lipsticks and I always have one in my handbag. During Winter, I love to wear something red, now Spring and Summer is coming I would switch it up to a pink or orange toned lipstick. I have always loved a orange/coral toned lip colour, whether it is a lip gloss of a lip tint. So Coral Dawn has come at the right time! I can’t wait to rock this shade all the time!
