Where I got it: I bought this on ebay for USD $33.00. Innisfree is a Korean brand that us trending in Asia. Innisfree is not available in retail in from New Zealand but you can get them online or in Asia countries.
What I got: This is Innisfree Mineral Melting BB Cushion. BB Cushion is a type of BB cream in the form of a compact with a sponge housing providing light to medium coverage. The sponge is soaked in BB cream and the compact has a sealed lid with a special applicator. BB cushion has been popular in the Asia countries for a few years now and it is now trending in US and soon moving to the UK. I have yet to see the hype coming to NZ! This BB Cushion boasts effective and long lasting cover, provides deep moisture, contains mineral powder for oil control and jeju green tea water to create dewy and clear skin. This one is shade 01 which is the lightest shade available. It also contains primer powder to reveal smooth skin texture. SPF50+ PA+++
How I find it: I have used this with and without a primer and it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference. You have to use the special applicator puff to press into the cushion. A small amount of the BB cream will transfer onto the applicator. I then use a pressing motion on my skin, never smear or pull. Repeat until I have reached desired coverage. I prefer not to powder to keep its luminous glowing finish.
Overall: I love the idea and packaging of the BB cushion, but the overall coverage is not ideal for me. It doesn’t really cover up the redness from the broken capillaries or my acne scars. Unfortunately got the wrong shade so I cannot comment on shade matching to my skin, but the shade options run pretty fair so there is very limited options available. The finish however is pretty beautiful, it is more of a natural/dewy finish that is not greasy or oily looking. It feels lightweight on the skin and does not break me out. There doesn’t seem to be too much product in the compact and it can be a little time consuming to apply with pressing and patting motions. All in all, I’m still interested in the BB cushion, but will need to find one with better coverage and correct shade for my skin.
