Where I got it: I got this from Lust have it! Lust have it! is a subscription box service providing beauty samples. For $19.90 each month, you will receive 5-6 deluxe sample sized beauty products where at least one of them will be a full sized.
What I got: This is the Lust have it! October edition. The products came in this pretty bright pink mesh makeup bag with gold zipper. There is a ModelCo Lip Lacquer Liquid Lipstick in Crème Brûlée , a Glam Manicure Express 3 in 1, a TheCosmeticKitchen Macadamia Wax Creme Highlighter, a sample sized Uriage Extra – rich Dermatological Cleansing Gel, a deluxe sample sized Urban Skincare Co. Repair + Body Balm, ModelCo Double Sided Facial Wipes sachet, ModelCo Exfoliating Cream Facial Scrub sachet, ModelCo Instant Miracle Booster Skin Brightening and Firming Serum sachet, and a ModelCo Soothing Moisturiser Day and Night sachet.
How I find it: While I have been MIA from using any nail polish products due to having my little baby boy, I am ready to get back I to the game especially with simple designs that won’t take me forever to create. This 3 in 1 manicure set seems to be a good start!
I love highlighters – be it liquid, cream or powder form. I love using it on the bridge of my nose, on my cheek bones, forehead and right under my eyes. This Cream Highlighter has a bronze tone to it which will be perfect for summer as a bronzing highlighter! It has a black plastic lid with a clear applicator much like a lip gloss. It is very pigmented and a little goes a very long way. It spreads very smoothly and is not too shimmery and not at all sparkly. I just squeeze a little bit on the back of my hand and dot onto my face using fingertips.
The ModelCo Lip Lacquer Liquid Lipstick in Crème Brûlée is a very pigmented nude lip gloss. This type of nude shade does not look well on my lips as a lip stick as it can look like I’ve got concealor on. As a lip lacquer, it can also have the same effect. Luckily this lip lacquer is not very opaque so it doesn’t look too bad. I do need to wear a good lipstick underneath to cover my natural lip color which is much darker than this nude shade. Otherwise the lip lacquer will fall into my lines and looks like I’ve got white lines on my lips.
I love body balms and body lotions, so when I saw this little tube, I was excited to try it out. The scent is pretty nice, but the texture is far from a balm consistency. It is much fluid, more fluid than even a lotion. Nonetheless, it moisturises nicely without feeling greasy. But don’t expect it to be super hydrating and nourishing for dry skin!
Out of all the ModelCo sample sachets, the double sided facial wipe is my favorite. It has these special exfoliating dots on one side and a normal texture on the other side. I love the exfoliating side as it cleanses so nicely while giving my skin a nice scrub that is not too harsh.
The rest of the ModelCo sample sachets are actually too small to give a good review so this is more of a first impression. The Exfoliating Cream Facial Scrub is a creamy scrub that does not foam and is designed to be used after cleansing on damp skin. It smells kind of weird, don’t really like it.
This Instant Miracle Booster Skin Brightening and Firming Serum is a clear liquid that is designed to be used before the moisturiser. I don’t like the smell, but the texture is not bad – not sticky or greasy.
This Soothing Moisturiser Day and Night is a rather ordinary moisturiser. It is more suitable for normal to dry skin instead of combination/oily skin. Nothing too special.
This cleansing gel is a clear gel that is formulated for sensitive skin. It is lightly scented and lathers up well. I like this cleanser and I will find out more of this brand and where I can get it.
Overall: This Lust have it! October edition is pretty good in my opinion in regards to exposing me to new brands and also trying out the skincare range from ModelCo (I have only preciously tried their makeup range). I like how it has more skincare than makeup this time round.
