What I got: This is a 50g bottle of Plantae Sea Buckthorn Berry Night Cream. It comes in a plastic bottle with a air-tight pump and plastic lid. This Night Cream is a berry-rich wonder abundant in antioxidants, vitamins and EFA’s to ensure that you wake with radiant and renewed skin ready to take on the challenges of the day. This easily absorbing night cream provides a breathable barrier with exceptional nutritive benefits which deeply nourish the skin and help to soothe and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The combination of Rosehip, Sea Buckthorn, Evening Primrose and Borage oil with Auvergne Pine Bark, Black Currant Leaf complex repairs and restores skin, leaving it supple and deeply nourished while the inclusion of Rose Otto essential oil leaves the sense with a relaxing floral aroma to drift off into a deep sleep.
ABOUT AUVERGNE PINK BARK AND BLACKCURRANT LEAF COMPLEX
Derived from the Auvergne Pine tree (Pinus sylvestris); pine bark extract is rich in protective plant pigments called polyphenols. These bioactives can dramatically slow and even potentially reverse the signs of premature aging, by increasing cellular renewal, stimulating collagen and elastin production, protecting against UV damage, preventing discolouration, and firming skin tone. Blackcurrant leaves (Ribes nigrum) contain a wide range of phytonutrients including plant pigments called flavonoids, which can prevent and reduce oxidation, a major cause of cell degeneration. Combined, these two botanical extracts have been scientifically proven to inhibit the production of free radicals in the skin by more than 90%.
How I find it: This night cream is more suitable for normal to dry skin as it is quite rich and moisturising. Therefore I use this at night and when the humidity is quite low (which is quite the case recently and my skin gets a little dry throughout the night). After cleansing, toning and usually a serum, I use about a pump of this night cream, spread it around my palms and apply all over my face. It does take a while for my skin to absorb it all in therefore it does make my skin a little sticky to the touch.
Overall: I absolutely love the smell of this night cream! It definitely gives me therapeutic effects of putting me to dreamland! I also love Plantae’s packaging, but unfortunately the pump doesn’t seem to work properly. I pumped a good amount on the 4th pump, but after that, I tried about 15 pumps and only a small amount came out. I guess it is because of the vacuum pump that it does need a good number of pumps to get all the product to a good compression before it comes out of that little hole. Nonetheless, the night cream is moisturising and nourishing on my skin. It might be a little too heavy for my skin during the day or when the air is quite humid, but if my skin is in need of nourishment, this night cream is surely a good beauty sleep in a bottle for my skin!
