Lust have it! February

What I got: This is the February issue of the Lust have it! It comes in a pretty red mesh bag with a gold zipper (great as makeup bags!). This month is is a mixture of skincare and makeup with brands that are new to me, brands I have heard of and brands I have tried previously. Let’s take a look what’s inside this month’s bag!

How I find it:

Ulta3 Lipliner Plum (RRP$2.95). This lipliner offers an unbelievably smooth and soft line to define and add shape to lips. Draw a thin line along the edge of your lips. Hug the very outer edges to open up thin lips and line well within the edged to downplay excessively full lips.  I love this shade, I like to use it to fill in my entire lip and blot it to give my lips some colour, but without the heavy feeling or glossy finish. The plum colour is beautiful but it isn’t very long lasting.

Natural Glamour 2GLO Line Treatment and Concealor – Medium (RRP$27.95 for 40ml). A new generation dual-action concealor that treats and hides flaws. The Line Treatment tightens and moisturises the delicate eye area smoothing and reducing the appearance of expression lines for a rejuvenated youthful radiance. The Concealor is light reflecting and covers redness, under eye dark circles, pigmentation and other imperfections for a natural, skin-flattering luminous look. This is quite a good idea to provide a eye cream/treatment with a concealor which I assume would be designed for the under eye area. The line treatment and concealor both has the same doe-foot applicator. The treatment side if a lightweight cream texture which is easily absorbed without feeling thick or greasy. The concealor shade is quite suitable for my skin colour, the texture is smooth and easy to blend, but doesn’t give much coverage I need for my dark circles. I use about 3 dots under each eye and blend it out with my fingertips, then powder over it. Creases just a little bit, but not too bad, it isn’t cakey because it is moisturising, but I would say it is sheer coverage for a concealor.

Natural Glamour Illuminating Foundation in Medium SPF15 (RRP$29.95). For a flawless, glowing complexion. Delivers a perfect, radiant, matte finish that leaves skin feeling velvety soft. Conceals blemishes to create a flawless finish. Free from talc, paraben and bismuth oxycholride. The shade is completely wrong for my skin obviously from the picture below therefore I couldn’t even be bothered putting this on my face. The pump packaging is quite good so it is hygienic, the texture is creamy and a little thick for my preference. SPF 15 is good, but I would prefer more. The finish is on the dewy side so I would need to blot if I were to use it on my face. With the shade being so off, I had to give this one away.

Designer Brand Black Liquid Eyeliner (RRP$8.99). **The description of the card that came with it describes this as a glitter eyeliner, but in fact it is not, so I cannot use the description that came with it**.  This eyeliner comes with a superfine brush for precise application. The formula is fluid and provides a semi-glossy finish. Dries fast and unless you cry your eyes out and rub with your hands, it stays put for a good 6-8 hours without fading or melting. I have oily eye lids and it stays on quite good for me. Keeping this one in my makeup drawer!

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (RRP$12 for 30ml). It rapidly exfoliates both the skin’s surface and inside the pore, reshaping the pore lining, unclogging pores and improving skin cell turnover. This product is 100% fragrance free and colourant free with a pH range of 3.5-3.9.  I have already tried this product before from the sample packets given to me when I order from Paula’s Choice. I love her products and I have been using this for a few weeks now along with AHA and a Retinol product also from her line. My pores are significantly smaller and blackheads reduced, I love this stuff! It also comes in a lotion or gel form where you apply directly onto your skin. For this liquid form, you need to pour it onto a cotton pad and then apply like a toner. Be sure to use a sunscreen during the day to protect your skin because it can cause light-sensitivity!

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid

Overall: This month’s bag has its highs and lows. High being the lipliner and the 2% BHA liquid exfoliant. Lows being the super dark foundation. Nonetheless, there are a mixture of skincare and makeup items (mostly makeup). Their recommended retail prices for the items seems reasonable therefore the value of this month’s bag is quite good provided everything in here suits your skin type, colour and preference.
