Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Where I got it: I got this from my local Countdown (Botany). There was about 5-6 on the shelves. This is available in most supermarkets, Farmers, Kmart, etc for RRP $12.99.

What I got: This is a 400ml bottle of Garnier Micellar Cleansing WaterMicellar Cleansing Water removes make-up, cleanses and soothes skin on the face, eyes and lips in one step without needing to rinse off. For the 1st time by Garnier, Micellar technology is introduced in an all-in-one cleanser. Micelles are an active cleansing ingredient which act as a magnet to capture impurities, make-up and sebum on the skin without vigorous rubbing. The result? Perfectly cleansed and refreshed skin without vigorous rubbing or rinsing. A soothing formula without perfume to suit all skin types, even sensitive. Micellar Cleansing Water’s 400ml format corresponds to 200 applications.

How I find it: I saturate a piece of cotton pad and wipe my face with upward motions. I focus on my fave with the first pad, then my my eye area with the second, then my mascara with the third pad and use the left over parts to make sure I didn’t miss any spots on my face. The first time I used it, I cleansed with a cleanser afterwards. The second time I used it, I did not cleanse again, but I did rinse my skin which just makes me feel better mentally. The third time using it, I applied toner and moisturiser right after without double cleansing or rinsing and my skin doesn’t feel tight or dry or generally not clean.

I have used normal cotton pads I got from the supermarket which contains soft cotton fibres and tends to soak up much of the cleansing water. But as I ran out of those cotton pads, I remembered that I bought some special cotton pads from Hong Kong which are also cotton, but they are weaved so they have a slightly rougher texture but holds the product really good and does not soak the product in. So I use less product to remove the same amount of makeup. They are also big, double-layers and not easy to tear or rip so I don’t need to worry about fibres left on my face.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water removed my foundation, blush and brows. Also some of my waterproof mascara.

Overall: If you haven’t tried Micellar Water before, this is an affordable one to try. It looks and feels just like water. It cleanses quickly for my normal, everyday BB creams, foundation, and other face makeup. However it doesn’t really remove waterproof mascara entirely. I have to make sure I don’t wipe too hard otherwise my skin does feel a little irritated afterwards. About 3-4 cotton pads will do the job, but overall I still prefer to use a cleansing oil because it is just so convenient and effective it even removes my waterproof mascara with ease!
