Where I got it: I was sent these for consideration. You can purchase Australis products from Famers, Kmart and a few NZ-based online stores. The primers are RRP$.
What I got: I was sent 3 products: 40ml tube of Primer The Original, 30g tube of Blemish Buster Acne Fighting Primer and a 20ml CYA Later Pores Spot Primer.
How I find it:
Primer The Original (40g). The perfect product for a fresher complexion and longer-lasting foundation. Moisture-protective and hydrating formula that creates a smooth skin canvas for perfect make-up application that lasts longer. This primer has a nice gel-cream texture that glides onto the skin effortlessly and provides instant hydration and moisture to the skin. It doesn’t give you that blur effect of silicon silky-touch feeling but it also doesn’t add weight to the skin or make it feel slippery or sticky. Foundation goes on smoothly without ‘pilling’. However this doesn’t really control oil so it didn’t really make my makeup last very long.
Blemish Buster Acne Fighting Primer (30g). An acne fighting primer to fight and soothe redness. Moisturise and hydrate your skin before your foundation, while also healing and soothing acne and other blemishes. This gel-cream primer has acne-fighting ingredients so it is support to treat my skin while priming my skin for foundation, etc. I don’t see the actual acne-fighting benefits from this but it certainly helps in reducing redness with that refreshing gel-cream texture that seems to cool to skin on contact. I wished it would be green tinted to give more redness relief though.
CYA Later Pores Spot Primer (20g). A spot primer that creates a flawless base and smooth complexion. Minimise the appearance of pores and other imperfections with this non-greasy and moisturising primer. This is my favourite out of all 3. This is similar to Benefit’s Porefessional in regards to its colour, texture and feeling on the skin. It has a silicon base to give you that blurred effect and cover those pores! I love to use this on my nose and some areas of my cheeks where I have enlarged pores. I use this on its own of under my foundation – works great!
Overall: Out of the 3 primers, my favourite would be CYA Later Pores because it does cover up my pores and gives my skin the blurred effect. The Original primer and the Acne-Fighting primer is a little disappointing to be honest. It moisturises and hydrates the skin, but does nothing to control oil. I suppose these would be great for people with normal to dry skin, but for combination to oily skin, you will see oil by midday and I will need touch up on my foundation. As for the acne-fighting benefits, you will need to use it constantly to see visible results and I don’t wear foundation/primers daily so I can’t really tell if it does a lot to help my breakouts.
