Where I got it: I was sent this from Estée Lauder for consideration. This is available from all Estée Lauder counters and online at www.smithandcaugheys.co.nz from 14th September for RRP $59.00.
What I got: This is Estée Lauder’s all new Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion in Fierce Beauty. A luxuriously lightweight formula that drenches lips with the rich colour intensity of a lipstick, the slip of a gloss, and the plush comfort of a lip balm for lips that are undeniably sultry. Infused with nourishing oils – lips feel luxuriously soft, smooth, and supple. Pure Color Envy Lip Potion’s moisture-rich formula and satiny texture glides onto lips with one uniform stroke of brilliant liquid colour for a smooth, sculpted finish. The rich colour impact gives lips a visibly fuller, more voluminous and curvaceous look. Featuring long-wearing properties that maintain colour richness and wear for up to 8 hours, lips remain soft throughout the entire day. The unique formula is infused with the intoxicating scent of red currant, mandarin orange and apple blossom for an added hint of sophistication. Estée Lauder’s Advanced True Vision Technology ™ contains ‘Concentrated Liquid’ structural pigments that create rich colour, definition and volume. A unique Time Release Encapsulated Moisture Complex with Hyaluronic Acid boosts lips’ ability to attract, capture and seal-in continuous hydration. This complex also comprises a nourishing cocktail of oils: Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil and Sunflower Oil.
Corals to Reds: Fierce Beauty, Cold Fire, Lethal Red
Pinks to Berries: Not So Innocent, Pierced Petal, Wicked Sweet, Naughty Naïve, Quiet Riot
Mauves to Plums: Vague Obsession, Fragile Ego
How I find it: The first time I tried it, I applied a lightweight lip balm with little slip so to not affect the texture and feel of the lip potion itself. It glided on easily and smoothly like a lip cream. The pigment is really good and the colour looks just perfect. I was half expecting that the formula will dry out because once applied, the formular feels creamy but not glossy or thick. It almost feels like one of those matte lip creams. However, after applying it the lip potion feels creamy and moisturising on the lips. The applicator gives a nice even application with precision and the other side gives a good amount of product so I would use one side to draw the outline of my lips, then will it in. After that I would use the other side to give a bit more product for the entire lip.
Overall: I am absolutely loving this lip potion at the moment! It applies like a lip gloss, feels like a lip balm, looks like a lip cream and smells amazing too! Fierce Beauty is a slightly coral rosy shade with a creamy sheen. It feels like a lip balm on the lips and its not heavy at all without the stickiness of a gloss. The application is easy and I don’t even need a lip liner! Removal is easy but it does leave a bit of stain, so a hint of colour stays on even if the product wears off. It is not a very long-wearing lipstick because of its creamy texture, but it certainly is comfortable to wear and looks great. I think that wins over longevity for me! Would love to try some of the brighter reds.
