Where I got it: I was at the Bobbi Brown Dark Circle Corrector serum and Concealor launch 2 weeks ago. This set is available at Bobbi Brown counters and their store at Britomart for RRP $105.
What I got: We were all given a goodie bag with the Bobbi Brown Sunset Pink Lip Trio. It contains a Lip Pencil in Pink Guava, a Sheer Lipcolor in Sunset Pink and a Lipgloss in Sunset. Achieving the perfect lip look has never been easier. Featuring a Sheer Lip Color, a Lip Pencil and a Lip Gloss in complementary, hand – selected shades, Bobbi makes creating a polished lip look fool-proof. Also comes in Twilight Glow and Pink Dusk.
How I find it:
Lip Pencil in Pink Guava. The formula of the lip pencil is easy to glide and creamy on the lips. Does not tug and the pencil does not break easily. The Pink Guava shade is beautiful I would even wear it on its own all over my lips with a lip balm over the top. It matches the sheer lip color and gloss perfectly.
Sheer Lip Color in Sunset Pink. The sheer lip color is nicely pigmented but still looking natural on the lips. It is a moisturising formula with a hint of sheen to the finish. The pink shade is quite a coral pink shade that is even suitable for my medium Asian skin with yellow undertones.
Lip Gloss in Sunset Pink. This is the corresponding shade to the lipstick but it is quite a sheer lipgloss. If I use it on top of the lipstick, it would look like I have lip gloss on. I would prefer to use this on its own when I want a hint of colour on my lips. However I don’t really like the texture and feeling of this lipgloss on my lips. It is rather thick and a little sticky. When I apply it, I need a few dips into the tube to get enough gloss on my lips. But it does give a nice glossy shine and it doesn’t dry out on the edges of my mouth.
Overall: I usually wouldn’t choose this shade of lipstick because of my yellow undertones and I am quite a tanned Asian. Plus I have pigmented lips, so a pink shade that is lighter than my natural lip color can look quite awkward and fake on my lips. It may look like it’s painted on… However to my surprise, this sunset pink works alright on my lips! I love using the lip pencil for my everyday lip color – it is subtle yet gives me a hint of brightness. The lipstick would be great if I am going out during the day and the lipgloss is great on top of the lip pencil or the lipstick when I’m out at night or just simply need some glossy shine. Overall the shades of the 3 products works perfectly together and my favourite one to pick would be the lip pencil. Gorgeous color and great texture on the lips.
