Where I got it: I was sent this from Kiehl’s for the celebration of the launch of these lovely holiday limited edition products cross over with Peter Max ! These are available from 19th October 2015 at the flagship boutique in Britomart, Smith and Caughey’s, Ballantynes and Kirkcaldie & Stains. These are sold individually – $69.00 for the Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner and $54.00 for the Ultra Facial Cream (not shown here is also the Richly Hydrating Hand Cream pack (grapefruit, coriander and lavender for $28)).
What I got: I was sent a bottle of their Calendular Herbal-Extract Toner and a tub of the Ultra Facial Cream in a holiday limited edition packaging. These limited edition packaging are in a collaboration with Peter Max (German-born, world-raised and New York-based artist who rose to fame and prominence in American pop culture when his art captured the imagination of the 60’s generation). Inspired by the art legend’s acclaimed work “The Cosmic Runner”, this season’s limited edition packaging will impart smiles and a spirit of celebration amongst Kiehl’s customers all over the world. Drawings from a wide range of subjects, Max captures the beauty of nature with sunsets over mountains, rolling landscapes, and puffy clouds, accented by his iconic “Holiday Flyers” that dances across the sky through his signature vibrant colour palette. The bright, imaginative design which perfectly embodies Kiehl’s energetic spirit is sure to burst through traditional Holiday landscape, making for exceptionally unique and joyful holiday gifts.
How I find it:
Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner. A Kiehl’s bestseller for almost 50 years, this gentle, alcohol-free toner contains Calendula, derived from the Marigold flower. Nourishing Panthenol and herbal extracts such as Lavender, Ivy, Great Burdock and Allantonin immediately leave the facial skin feeling smooth, fresh and invigorated after each use. Recommended for those with normal to dry or normal to oily skin types.
I am already a fan of this toner after using a deluxe sample size of this. I love that it is alcohol-free. Calendula is a really good healing herbal extract so to apply this after cleansing, I feel like I am putting back essential moisture and regulating the skin from any irritation from cleansing or scrubbing. My skin feels fresh and hydrated after the toner and it is ready for my treatment essence!
Ultra Facial Cream. A light-textured daily hydrator that leaves skin comfortable and visibly well-balanced. Provides 24-hour hydration with continuous water replenishment throughout the day, leaving skin supple, particularly in harsh weather conditions. Helps reduce moisture loss while drawing and absorbing moisture from the air.
Already a big fan of this face cream – it is simple, it is hydrating, it is lightweight and non-greasy. It goes on my combination/oily skin nicely without feeling heavy. I only need to use a small amount to cover my face and my skin won’t feel tight or oily after using this. No over-production of sebum due to dehydration so my skin won’t look like a grease-ball, haha! This tub will last me for a long time, so I’m sharing this with my hubby who has combination/dry skin but he simply hates sticky skincare especially during summer. No fragrance as well so it is very easy to get your man to use it as well.
Overall: Both of these products are already Kiehl’s best sellers and are some of my favourites too. I really love the toner – it doesn’t aggravate my skin even when I have breakouts, its hydrates and soothes, gently removes the last traces of any dirt on my skin. Prepares it for the treatment essence. For the moisturiser, it is suitable for use day and night, but I particularly love it during winter months as it keeps my skin hydrated and moisturised throughout the day/night. The limited edition bottle design is so colourful which gives a pop of colour in my vanity and I love it! Head over to their shop or counter and check these out!
