What I got: This is a 100ml tube of Manuka Doctor ApiRevive Restorative Hair Mask. Over the years, Manuka Doctor have created amazing skincare products including their renowned face masks, so when they decided to delve into hair care, their first new hair care product had to be a mask, so the NEW ApiRevive Restorative Hair Mask was created. Manuka Doctor ApiRevive Restorative Hair Mask is a rich and creamy conditioning treatment for your tired, stressed and damaged hair. The unique formulation of Manuka Honey, Manuka Oil and Abyssinian Oil works perfectly together to nourish and revitalise hair, replenish lost nutrients and restore natural goodness. After using Manuka Doctor ApiRevive Restorative Hair Mask, your hair will be left intensely nourished with long lasting volume, a weightless finish and an envious fabulous shine! This hair mask also acts as a great hair de-tangler. Manuka Honey is a great hair conditioner, helping to soften, smooth and improving the health of the hair follicles and scalp alike. Manuka Oil is extracted from the leaves and branches of the native New Zealand Manuka tree; this essential oil is renowned for its potent antimicrobial properties, as well as helping to maintain a healthy scalp. The Abyssinian Oil comes from the Brassica Ayssinica plant; the oil is extracted from the flower seeds and has a high level of unsaturated fatty acids which help reduce the breakage of hair as well as condition and add shine. It is also highly resistant to heat, making it an excellent pre-straightening treatment.
How I find it: I aim to use this once a week or when I feel like my hair needs a bit of a treatment. After rinsing out my shampoo, I wring and towel dry my hair slightly. Then I use a generous amount (see below – this is a little too much even for my long hair) and massage it all over my hair. Wait for about 7-10 minutes and wash out thoroughly.
Overall: This hair mask smells quite strong of Manuka oil which is not really the best smelling scent and I know some people really dislike it. The texture of the hair mask is rather thick so I would probably use half the amount I used above. It coats my hair easily with a slippery feel on the hands and hair. Washing off will need a bit of work because it has a really strong slip to the hair and my hands. It leaves this really interesting texture on my hair – which I don’t know if I like it or not… It almost feels like I can’t get it clean, but in fact it feels like it is squeaky clean? I’m a little confused, but it doesn’t seem to weight my hair down and after blow drying my hair feels really soft and smooth. I will continue using this and see if I use a lesser amount will make that weird feeling go away.
I also had this mask sent to me for consideration, and I really liked it! I have quite thick hair though but it worked a treat. Really interesting to read your experience with it x
