Where I got it: I ordered this online directly from the Sleek website shortly after Wayne Goss was raving about their products and I saw that beautiful highlighting palette!!! They are only USD $14.99 each which is about NZD $22.30. This gives you 4 highlighting shades in each palette though! I ordered this on 11th December and it arrived on 22nd December which is 11 days.
What I got: I got all 3 of the Sleek Highlighting Palettes : Midas Touch Highlighting Palette, Precious Metals Highlighting Palette and Solstice Highlighting Palette.
How I find it:
Solstice palette. This versatile face and body highlighting palette suits all skin tones and includes two baked powders, one luxurious cream formula and one silky shimmer powder. The iridescent, metallic finishes add a radiant glow and a luminous polish to the skin.
This palette is pretty much pink-toned. From top left clockwise, we have Ecliptic (cream) which is a rosy pink with silver shimmers, Hemisphere (powder) is a bright pink with reflective silver shimmers, Equinox (powder) is a orange/bronze with reflective silver shimmers and Subsolar (silky shimmer powder) is a champagne gold with subtle gold shimmer.
Midas Touch palette. This versatile face and body highlighting palette suits all skin tones and includes three baked powders and one luxurious cream formula. The iridescent, metallic finishes add a radiant glow and a luminous polish to the skin.
This palette looks similar to a colour-correcting palette with a salmon, green, blue and white shade. From top left clockwise we have Solitaire (cream) which is a moss green with silver shimmers, Tanzanite (powder) is a salmon pink with silver shimmers, Cubic Zirconia (powder) is a cream colour with silver shimmers and Rhinestone (powder) is a beautiful sky blue with blue/green shimmers.
Precious Metal palette. This versatile face and body highlighting palette complements all skin tones and includes three luxurious velvet cream formulas and one powder. The iridescent, metallic finishes add a radiant glow and a luminous polish to the skin.
This palette is my favourite. It is a rose gold/gold shade palette with a really pretty highlighter. From top left clockwise we have Platinum (cream) which is a really nice soft white with silver shimmers, Royal Gold (cream) is a nice peachy gold with golden shimmers, Antique Bronze (powder) is a golden bronze with gold shimmers and Renaissance Gold (cream) is a lighter version of Royal Gold with silver shimmers.
Overall: First of all – Packaging. They are absolutely stunning, aren’t they? Especially the Midas Touch and Precious Metal palette with the mirror outer case! Even though they are not really heavy on the hands, it has a really nice magnetic close which is super elegant! It has a full size mirror under that lid with a small applicator brush that I’m not going to use anyway. The products takes up pretty much the full size of the palette with no space wasted. The size of these palettes is just a bit smaller than the Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow.
As for the formula, I really love the cream formula – they are so creamy and pigmented you only need a little amount to achieve a really nice highlight. It is not streaky or cakey. I like to use my fingertips for applying the cream highlighters because they are a little small in the pan so it is hard to move around my favourite brush for cream highlighters. The powder formulas are really fine and not chalky and is great with a slightly pointed fluffy brush or even a fan brush. Overall the shades all seem to look similar on the skin except for the more sparkly ones and the cooler and warmer tone difference. Love how they are so pigmented, you can also use them as eyeshadows or even dabbing over lipstick to create that extra dimension to the centre of the lips!
I love the sleek makeup… I have tons of eyeshadow palettes too.
