Where I got it: I was sent the December issue of Lust have it! subscription service. Lust have it is a subscription service providing beauty samples. For $19.90 each month, you will receive 5-6 deluxe sample sized beauty products where at least one of them will be full sized!
What I got: This is the December issue of the Lust have it! It comes in a pink mesh bag with an information card. This month is is a mixture of makeup, body care, and skin care with brands that are new to me and brands I have tried previously. Let’s take a look what’s inside this month’s bag/box!
How I find it:
Naobay Moisturizing Peeling Brightening Facial Milk Scrub (RRP$27 for 100mL available on www.naobay.com). Facial milk with natural peeling particles from the Acai palm tree. This face peel gently exfoliates the skin, removes surface cells and impurities. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines by combining Olive oil, Shea butter and sweet almond oil with Gotu kola extract that soothe the skin after the peel.
Initially I thought this was one of those gel type peeling lotion where you apply to dry skin and rub until it balls up to remove surface dead skin cells. However, when I squeezed the product out, it was a creamy scrub instead. The information card says that this is a milk scrub so I guess that explains it – the lactic acid in milk is a mild exfoliant that they sometimes call “peeling”. After cleansing, I apply this onto damp or dry skin and gently massage and then wash off.
Sasy N Savy Orchid From Paradise Hand Therapy Hand Cream in Jasmine (RRP$15 for 40mL from www.sasynsavy.com). Protect and heal with this conveniently sized hand cream. Luxury protective hand cream to deeply nourish and hydrate your skin to defend hard-working hand from damage. Leaving your hands feeling soft and supple.
Nice smelling hand cream to soothe dry hands. The size of the tube is quite handy to keep in my handbag or my office drawer. Scent is not too overwhelming and it gently fades away.
Essenzza Fuss Free Naturals Micellar Mini Wipes (RRP$2.25 for 8 wipes from www.essenzzahealth.com). Micellar water infused wipes with fuss-free 3-in-1 action. Cleanses and tones as it removes makeup and waterproof mascara. These naturally formulated wipes leaves no messy liquid and no cotton pad required. Gently peel back the resealable sticker and remove the wipe. Ensure that you properly reseal the bag to prevent drying. Carefully wipe over the eyelids to remove eye makeup, then wipe over the face and neck and your cleansing is complete.
These cleansing wipes are pretty awesome. They are drenched in just the right amount of micellar water in each wipe and the size of the wipe is easy to use. It removes my usually waterproof mascara easily and the textured cloth makes it more effective in removing makeup. I would usually use 2 wipes for a full face of makeup just to ensure all traces of makeup is removed. Then I would use my usual cleanser after this. Great for travelling if you don’t want to bring your bottle of micellar water or cleansing oil!
Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in London (RRP$22 from www.beabombshellcosmetics.com). A high pigmented long lasting formula for all day wear. To use as eyeliner, wet the tip of your brush dip end into the shadow and apply on lash line. For base colour, blend shadow from lash line to brow bone with a wide shadow brush using gentle upward strokes. For accent colours, blend shade in the other crease of your eye gently working inward. Gently blen base and accent colours together using light, feathery strokes. For highlighting gently brush under brow bone.
Not the most appealing set of colours for my preference to be honest, plus I don’t usually wear eye shadow on a daily basis needless to say these dark and purple shades. From swatching, the colours are not very pigmented, nor the formula was not really creamy. It was a little difficult to get enough pigment to my finger to swatch on the back of my hand! From top left clockwise the colours are: Pistol – a silvery grey shade that is much lighter/silver than it looks like on the pan. Halo – an icy shimmery white. Corrupt – a dark grey with silver shimmers. Starstruct – my favourite shade from the quad, this is a rather beautiful purple with a hint of iridescent.
Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil (RRP$24.50 from www.chella.com). This fresh and pretty neutral pencil will brighten and visibly lift your eyes when lightly applied on the brow bone, dark circles, blemishes and red spots. Perfect for highlighting a beautiful smile by elminiating dark shadows and preventing lipstick spread by applying to the cupid’s bow and along the lip line.
To me, this highlighter pencil is pretty much a waterline pencil. It is creamy and glides on the skin easily. I do not waterline or tightline my eyes because it will 100% run off and it will be pointless to use anything anyway. However, I can use this to highlight my cupid’s bow and smudge it out on my brow bone. People with lighter skintone can also use this as a spot concealor for dark spots or minor skin discolourations.
Overall: This month’s box has a rather good mix of skincare and makeup and is value of $90.75. My favourite would be the Essenzza Fuss Free Naturals Micellar Mini Wipes. They are not really ‘mini’ wipes, the size is same as the full size, its only because it only have 8 wipes in a pack which can be good if you are travelling or just have a pack on the go or in the office drawer. I was not very interested in the eyeshadow quad to be honest and neither was I with the highlighter pencil mostly because I do no use these on a regular basis and purple/blacks are not my colour range. The skincare products are so-so, not too exciting. There was a teaser for the January box with a Unani Micellar Water and I am quite interested in that one!
