Lancôme My Parisian Spring 2016 Collection

If you saw my previous Beauty News Post here, you will see how beautiful these are and when they were sent to me I was a very happy girl! What I got: I was sent the Lancôme My Parisian Pastels and My Parisian Blush in 02 Rose Haussmann. Welcome to a pop, retro-futuristic Paris: a world of poetic surprises where things are never quite what they seem, an invitation to incite every woman’s creativity. An imaginary journey infused with grace and lightness has inspired Lancôme for its spring 2016 make-up collection. The heroine of this Parisian tale re-connects with her childlike side to imagine looks with new-found sensuality, both elegant and delicate, playing with innovative textures and zesty colour. Neo-pastels with soft pop tones, but always with an ultra-contemporary twist. What could be more uplifting than daring to shake up the codes, create new sensations and effects, go beyond appearances and reveal the unexpected?

Lancôme My Parisian Pastels.  It’s nine daring colour cubes, nine iridescent pastels, offer infinite combinations to delight every woman’s inner child. More than ever, make-up becomes playful: an adventure divested of rules, where freshness always prevails. Little individual cubes united to form a multi-coloured cube, the 9 shades of My Parisian Pastels can be used in a multitude of ways: alone for a localised touch of colour, mixed together for a healthy glow halo or in duos or trios for graduated pastel effects… no rules, only the means to satisfy every desire. The 9 shades are divided into 3 corrective shades, 3 blush tones and 3 illuminating pastels. But nothing is set in stone, everything can be switched up. Whether applied directly to skin like a chalk or delicately blended with a brush, the compact iridescent powder texture adapts to every inspiration.

The beautiful tin case opens up to 9 little cubes individually cased in a small plastic case with a lid so you can keep them safe without crushing them or having them bang around each other. I personally like to bring out each cube and use my fingers to apply them as eye shadow, brow bone highlighter, cheek highlighter or I put a couple on a piece of tissue or a palette and use a fluffy brush to use this as an all over shimmering powder. They are quite pigmented and the shimmering shades are really gorgeous. At the back of the tin, it says that shade 4-6 are face shades only, but I would also use them on my eyes! They are so versatile!

Lancôme My Parisian Blush in 02 Rose Haussmann. The other star product for spring 2016 is this blush: playful and visually irresistible in equal measure. Balloon-round and decorated in pop colours reminiscent of a sweet shop, it promises the healthy glow and effortless radiance adored by the Parisienne. Instantly addictive, the surprise lies in its Play-doh texture: delightfully the finger presses in, reminiscent of Proust’s madeleine. Here, this nostalgic dough becomes a beauty tool, enlivening the cheeks with irresistible freshness.

This small little tin looks like a lip balm but the formula of this blush is really interesting – almost like a creamy mousse, but a bit firmer and less airy. If you have tried ColourPop Super Shock Cheeks, then this is pretty much the same texture. This blush packs a lot of colour and it has a matte finish. This deep pink would look good in a wide range of skin tones and will be great for spring – or even autumn where we are in the southern hemisphere! I just like to dab my middle or ring finger in to pick up the some product, then dab it over my cheeks or use it as a lip stain. It is really pigmented so you just need a very small amount. You can also use a stippling brush to pick up the product for a sheer flush of colour. Stays on my face all day.

Overall: Absolutely the most beautiful packaging I have seen for a long time. The tins and the product inside are so cute and the colours so vibrant they are such a collectors item! The pastel cubes are so versatile to use as well as the blush. They are really pigmented and will last a really long time. I have been looking for an illuminating powder for a while now and I was pondering on getting the Guerlain Meterorites, but this came across me and I reckon these would be so much better because I can use these cubes individually and also as eyeshadows as well!
