Where I got it: I was sent these beautiful products for review from Cropps Bees Brilliance. You can purchase their products on their website: www.beesbrilliance.co.nz. Bee’s Brilliance have a long history and understanding of the land and it’s native inhabitants. Their products are about crafting together the absolute best our brilliant bees produce, with the absolute best flora our pure remote lands produce. Their formulations are about the brilliance of natural ingredients that are the purest of gifts from nature, that don’t harm nature. They handcraft their skincare products in their own newly established manufacturing facility in Brightwater, Nelson New Zealand. Because natural and quality are everything to them, they control every step of  their skincare making process.

What I got: I was sent 3 products from their range: Bees Brilliance Skin Brightening Corrective Serum, Bees Brilliance Skin Brightening Spot Essence and the Bees Brilliance Exfoliating Soap. Bees Brilliance is a range of brightening skincare products produced by Cropps which is a New Zealand owned family business that has over 5000 family bee hives located amongst some of New Zealand’s most remote and beautiful lands. Matthew Cropp was born and breed as a beekeeper who devoted his time to formulating new skincare creations using the ingredients from the bee hives. They have a total of 9 products including body soaps and an overnight mask.

Bees Brilliance Skin Brightening Corrective Serum (NZD$59.00 for 30g). • Firms • Brightens • Corrects. This high potency treatment features a unique blend of New Zealand Manuka Honey & Bee Venom with Mamaku Fern Extract, designed to help promote collagen synthesis and inhibit melanin production for a skin lightening effect. New Zealand Manuka Honey is rich in natural antioxidants and antibacterial properties while Bee Venom is a powerful activity ingredient, a natural alternative to injectables, assisting in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  New Zealand Native Tree Fern Mamaku contains a powerful healing extract that has been used by Maori for centuries to soothe and revive. A potent blend of ingredients designed to minimise the visible appearance of skin discolourations and even skin tone. Skin looks smooth and radiant.

This serum is really lightweight – it almost feels like a really fluid gel. It literally looks like liquid honey from the dropper with its colour and little bits of sediments in the natural product. I was expecting a strong honey scent which I like, but some products do get that honey smell quite wrong and I really don’t like that artificial honey scent. However to my surprise, this smells really nice! It is almost a fresh honey smell that is not too sickly sweet if you know what I mean. Spreads like a dream and absorbed quickly. It does leave a slight film on the skin but that will slowly fade within a few minutes. I apply this all over my face after the Spot Essence and before moisturiser.

Bees Brilliance Skin Brightening Spot Essence (NZS$45.00 for 15g). • Dark spot and discolouration reduction. This concentrated spot treatment is a unique blend of New Zealand Manuka Honey & Bee Venom, Peony Root and Mamaku Black Fern Extract, designed to help precisely target areas of hyper-pigmentation that require extra lightening. Peony root extract is rich in antioxidants and research indicates it can inhibit the production of melanin, which can help reduce the appearance of dark spot, acne scars and freckles. New Zealand Native Tree Fern Mamaku contains a powerful healing extract that has been used by Maori for centuries to soothe and revive. A potent blend of ingredients designed to minimise the visible appearance of dark spots, hyper-pigmentation and improve skin tone. Skin looks brighter and more even-toned.

This Spot Essence has the same colour as the serum with a more concentrated texture. It has a nice pleasant scent that reminds me of nature and honey bees. This is a much thicker gel that you only need one or less than one pump for areas of concern – spots or areas of pigmentation. I use a whole pump and apply this all over my cheeks and chin area where I have heaps of pigmentation and uneven skintone. Th spot essence feels a little tacky on the skin and it does take a few minutes to sink in. After that I apply the serum over and moisturiser.

Bees Brilliance Exfoliating Soap (NZD$7.39 for 60g). Our soaps are handcrafted the old fashion traditional cold process method, to ensure the goodness of the raw materials are retained and to help provide excellent skin moisturisation. Unlike commercially produced soaps, our soaps are safe, luxurious and unique. Handcrafted soap is soap in its true and most pure form. Just like your grandmother would have used. Feel the difference, when you use our handcrafted Manuka Honey, Fig & Walnut soap. Suitable for sensitive skin.

Comes in this beautiful brass-coloured tin with their logo embossed on it – definitely keeping this tin after the soap is finished! This soap is new on their website and also comes in 2 other options – pamper and energizing. This is basically a simple bar of soap for the use on the body or as a hand soap. The soap is really fine and lathers really nicely without stripping my skins natural moisture. The fine granules in the soap is exfoliating but if you rub the soap directly onto the skin it can be a little abrasive. Sometimes I just rub the soap directly onto my rough areas and rub the soap between my palms to get some lather for sensitive areas.

Overall: Love love love the packaging of the skincare products and especially the soaps! I love how the brand uses natural and local ingredients and is made in New Zealand which means it is cruelty-free as well. The products are of really high quality and the texture is really gorgeous. Smells nice but not overwhelming. Suitable for even oily skin (for the products I have tried) as it didn’t break me out or make my skin feel sticky or greasy. I have been using both the spot essence and serum for about 2 weeks now and they are absolutely amazing. I concentrated the spot essence to my cheek and chin area where I have most discolouration and acne scars. They really are evening out and becoming less noticeable.
