Where I got it: I was sent the March issue of Lust have it! subscription service. Lust have it is a subscription service providing beauty samples. For $19.90 each month, you will receive 5-6 deluxe sample sized beauty products where at least one of them will be full sized!
What I got: This is the March issue of the Lust have it! It came in a pink mesh bag with an information card. This month is is a mixture of makeup, body care, and skin care with brands that are new to me and brands I have tried previously. Let’s take a look what’s inside this month’s bag/box!
How I find it:
Be A Bombshell Mechanical Eyeliner (RRP$20). This twist up mechanical eyeliner comes in bold colours for a defined eye or pop of colour. Easy to apply and adds great definition; long lasting and water-resistant. Use like a marker, drawing from the top closest to your lash line for precise definition. Hold the pencil at an angle and draw along the lashline. Begin at the edge of the outer part of the eye.
Usual slimline packaging. I usually don’t use much eyeliner pencils because they tend to face and melt on my eyes after the day. I tried this for the first time and to my disappointment, I can’t even draw a decent line on my eyes even with a bit of force! It is not creamy at all and I even tried to soften it up a bit on the back of my hand and it still didn’t really work. I gave up on my first eye on the first go. I might try to use it before any eyeshadow next time and that I really soften up the tip first. But this shade seems like my type of colour for an eyeliner. What a shame.
Glazel Visage Single Matte Eyeshadow (RRP$15). A rich palette of silk textured, highly pigmented colours. Creates phenomenal and irresistible colour saturation.
This purple shade is not what I would usually wear but sometimes a pop of colour can be quite good on the eyes. I applied an eyeshadow primer and used a flat shader brush to pick up some pigment then dived straight into my lids. Oh wow, super pigmented! However, it is a little difficult to blend out. I had to go back with a clean fluffy brush to blend it out so that it is not too pigmented! It looks quite good on my eyes if I don’t drag it out too high. I am not very used to matte purple, so I added a bit of a shimmery champagne eyeshadow over it to soften it up a bit and it worked pretty well.
Sebamed Liquid Face & Body Wash (RRP$14.95 for 300ml full size). Great for normal and sensitive skin, adjusted to pH5.5, the pH value of healthy skin. Contacins a sophisticated complex of vitamins, allantoin and Pentavitin to protect the skin from dehydration. The wash also includes a blend of moisturisers to ensure no irritation to the skin. The gentle formula makes this body wash suitable for frequent use.
Sebamed is one of the brands that I trust to be gentle and safe to use for my baby who is now a toddler so I have no problems using this for my skin and face as well. The liquid wash has a blue/green tint to it and has almost a gel-like texture. I make sure I wash my hands with soap before I use my hands to lather the cleanser up because it is very low-foaming and with a little bit of oil or dirt of my hands, it won’t foam or lather up on my face. So I lather it up in my hands then apply directly to my damp face and massage. It is almost thick to kind of protect the skin so you won’t rub too hard while cleansing. Washing off is easy and it makes my skin feels clean and soft, but not squeaky clean. You need to remove makeup first of course.
Jersey Shore Cosmetics Anti-aging Whole Body Balm (RRPR20 fro .15oz). A perfectly balanced, certified organic formula using the very best all natural ingredients. Premium, nutrient rich, organic Argan oil, Castor oil, Jojoba oil and Vitamin E, are known to have anti-aging properties and are proven to deeply condition, nourish and hydrate skin and hair. A superior all-purpose balm, with a multitude of uses.
This looks to me like a common lip balm, but when it says all purpose you may just want to try it on your elbows, knees, ankles or even cuticles! When applied, it pretty much melts into the skin and it is really soft – like solidified oils have melted onto your skin! It definitely is moisturising and nourishing and I think this would be good to use for travelling or on the go moisturising stick. It can get a little oily though so use sparingly!
Ruby Eyeliner Slanted Brush (RRP$22.40). Synthetic hair brush for applying liquid and cream eyeliner for creating dramatic effects or creating natural looks.
I use this to apply brow powder or my brow pomade as I like to use a much thinner brush to apply gel liners. This is a simple liner brush that does the job, nothing too amazing. It is not too stiff but firm enough to pack in the pigments to my brows.
Overall: Quite a nice mixture of products in this month’s bag. There was also a gift card for a food delivery service that was worth $25 but it was only available in Australia so that was no use to me. However, I really like the face and body wash and the eyeliner brush. The eyeliner pencil was a big disappointment and the eyeshadow was OK, not my favourite colour so I won’t be using this much. The total value of the full sized products in here is already $77.40 which is pretty good. However, I won’t be spending $20 for that eyeliner pencil at all!
