How I find it: It has really simple instructions to clean brushes: Wet brush – Wet Soap – Swirl – Rinse. This is the first time I’ve used a solid brush cleanser or shampoo and I wasn’t really used to how it doesn’t lather up. My first impression was that it didn’t clean very well, possibly because I haven’t wet the soap enough. On the second try, I put some water directly onto the soap and swirled by brush round and round in the tub. The makeup that was on the brush started to melt off from the brush and when I worked the brush a little more on the palm of my hand and rinsed off, the build-up of product leaves the brush and there were no soapy or foamy residue. Then I just leave it to dry as normal.

Overall: The shampoo in the tub doesn’t look very appealing and it looks as if it had melted and solidified again in the tub. However, the soap does need a bit of water and work to loosen up the makeup from the brushes for the first few swirls. If the build-up of the product is quite a lot, I will need to repeat the process until I don’t see any colour on the bristles (if the bristles are white or light in colour) or in the water that is squeezed out. After using the soap, I rinse the soap a little with clean water, tip all the excess water out and leave it to air dry before I screw the lid back on. Quite like the convenience of the soap in a tub and this soap will last me quite a while. However, I can’t really smell the rose scent on this soap which is a little disappointing, I was looking forward to my brushes smelling of roses! I might try another scent when I’m finished with this one.
