Where I got it: I got this from my local MAC store (Botany) for $70. They had all the colours in stock (5 in total).
What I got: This is a 50ml tube of MAC Strobe Cream in Silverlite. It also comes in 4 other shades including the original one which is Pinklite (pink pearls). A moisturiser that boosts the look of dull skin and luminizes with iridescent particles. The ultimate quick fix for skin now in shades of pink (original), peach, silver, red and gold. Super-powered with potent botanicals, it boosts the look of dull, flat or tired-looking skin with nutritious vitamins and a mega-dose of green tea. Brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants. Adds the softest glow to the skin in sunlight to spotlight. It is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested. Non-acnegenic.
How I find it: This strobe cream has silver micro-shimmer. It can be used on its own, under foundation, or over foundation as a highlighter/illuminator. I love to use it as an illuminating base when I’m wearing foundation and as a finishing touch to my cheekbones for a highlight. This will also be great for the body too to highlight the collarbone, shoulders, etc. The fine silver pearls (micro-shimmer) looks really pretty on the skin without being sparkly and shiny. It can be built up to create a more reflective shimmer.
Overall: While I haven’t bought myself a full size of the original strobe cream, I got a travel size one and I really like it. In fact, I like the pink pearls more than the silver pearls. To be honest, I only bought the Silverlite because I hardly have a highlighter/illuminator with silver shimmers because I like highlighters with a gold/pink shimmer. Nonetheless, this Silverlite looks much more reflective and pigmented compared to the original one as you can see above in the comparison photo. A big tube like this for a highlighter, I would expect this to last a very long time so the $70 price tag is not that expensive really. However, I can imagine you will be able to find something similar that is much more affordable and does a similar job. The price tag does mean that you buy the brand as well as quality.
