Lancôme La Rose À Poudrer

Where I got it: I bought this from my local Life Pharmacy in Botany Town Centre. I know that these sold out fast at my local LP because the lady told me so as she only had a handful of stock. Also, these are not available at all Lancôme counters too! I was lucky enough to be able to reserve one for myself and as soon as I know they are at the store I went and bought it. It was RRP$122 which is pretty much the most expensive highlighter I have ever bought.

What I got: This is the Lancôme La Rose À Poudrer which is a highlighter. Oh my rôse! is a beautiful, delicate collection that combines spring Parisian pastels with the hot makeup trend on highlighting. Get the latest on-trend glow look, through the most elegant and vintage methodology. Encapsulated in a 50’s French-inspired Bijou box (traditionally meant to house loose powders), is a new-generation highlighting luminous powder. The powder is evenly dispersed among rose petals inside the Bijou box. Use the Kabuki brush to pick up the perfect amount of formula for a perfect, even glow.

How I find it: The beautiful rose presentation is simply stunning. I was sold as soon as I saw this online actually about 2 months ago. Somewhere in Asia they already had this in early January. It has just hit New Zealand stores on Valentine’s Day (14/2). This comes in Lancôme’s signature mirror-finish silver box, the rose is encased in a round pale pink box, much like Guerlain’s Meteorites. The pink shimmering rose sits in the box and you there is no powdery highlighter fall-outs when you open the box and the rose petals are quite sturdy.

To be honest, I bought this simply because of how pretty it look and it is limited edition. I already own so many highlighters and I’m not really convinced that this will be much prettier or different that what I already have. After the first few photographs and drools over this, I put this in my drawers of new makeup and have not used this for at least 2 weeks. However, once I have gotten around to using this, I used this with a pointed fluffy highlighter brush and swirled it around the petals. The brush picked up the product effortlessly so I don’t have to really press the brush against the petals. The petals are not fragile so I’m not too worried that they will break off at all. The highlighter is a little powdery but it doesn’t kick off dust. It is more on the silvery side with a very minimal pink tint.

Overall: The packaging says it all – a pretty item to display on the vanity but I probably won’t do that because my vanity is in the bathroom which will be quite moist if I open this up for display. Not to mention the dust that this will collect! Even though it is not a lot of product in this rose, but this will no doubt last me a long time as well.
