Where I got it: I was sent these for consideration from Antipodes (thank you!) and they are available is most Pharmacies (Life Pharmacy), Health Food stores (Health 2000), Farmers and department stores. They are RRP$33.90 each.
What I got: These are the Antipodes Moisture-Boost Natural Lipstick in Forest Berry Red, Dragon Fruit Pink and Oriental Bay Plum. Our Moisture-Boost Natural Lipsticks are superior to others on the market for two reasons:
- So healthy. Natural, healthy, edible ingredients make these lipsticks safer to wear.
- Moisture-boosting. Nutrient-rich pure plant oils mean these lipsticks actually condition as they colour.
These healthy ingredients feature some of Nature’s finest superfoods:
- Avocado oil: Packed with essential fats, vitamins and minerals, our ‘Green gold for skin’ helps to increase collagen production and keep your lips beautifully dewy and fresh.
- Calendula oil: Healing oil from the marigold flower has anti-inflammatory properties.
- Evening primrose oil: This edible oil is so rich in healthy fats it’s used as a natural dietary supplement.
- Argan oil: The Moroccan nut oil balances oil production and hydrates lips for a soft, moist finish.
We also added antibacterial beeswax, deeply moisturising shea butter and jojoba oil, and even extra Vitamin E for extra lip nourishment. All of our lipstick ingredients are from natural origin, with only low levels of FDA-approved colour pigments added for vibrancy.
How I find it: I already use and love Antipodes lipsticks and their mineral foundation that’s why when I received these new lipstick shades, I am very excited. The 3 shades that were sent to me were right up my alley and they are 3 quite different shades – a bright pink, a classic red and a warm plum. Dragon Fruit Pink is a vivid pink that will brighten up a minimal makeup look which I usually sport day in day out. Forest Berry Red is bold warm-based true red that will bring a pop of colour to your nighttime look that is classic and chic. As for the Oriental Bay Plum, it is an exotic plum shade that is great for that statement lip.
Overall: As you can see, the lipsticks are very moisturising and has a slightly glossy finish. The pigmentation of the lipsticks are not super intense but that’s what I like about an everyday comfortable lipstick that I don’t need to worry about it getting everywhere and wearing off weirdly on the lips. It can be build up from a sheer wash of colour to a medium intensity lip colour. I was a little worried that the Dragon Fruit Pink would be a bit too cool on my skin tone, but when applied, it actually looks really nice. Forest Berry Red has an orange undertone, therefore complements my yellow-undertone skin tone. As for the Oriental Bay Plum, I was expecting a deeper more pigmented shade, but it was a bit sheer on the lips which doesn’t bother me too much. Rather, it would be quite an easy to wear plum shade without being too bold. Overall, I love all 3 shades and I can tell that I will be wearing Oriental Bay Plum quite a bit during this Autumn!
