Where I got it: I got this from my local MAC store in Botany Town Centre for $52.00. I was shade matched by the lady there and I was matched to Medium Plus. Comes in Light – pale ivory, Light Plus – light beige / Medium warm beige Medium Plus light tan beige / Medium Dark caramel beige Medium Deep rich golden tan / Dark Deep caramel Dark Plus neutral tan beige / Dark Deep rich golden bronze
What I got: This is MAC Cosmetics Next To Nothing Pressed Powder in Medium Plus. Next to Nothing offers it with the newest innovations in brilliant, barely-there makeup. Next to Nothing Face Colour’s nourishing ingredients and opalescent microspheres bring out skin’s luminosity whether worn under makeup or alone. Smooth it on with a sponge or brush to moisturise and protect skin while diminishing imperfections. Next to Nothing Pressed Powder offers a creamy, transformative lightweight formula for long-lasting, high comfort wear. The silky-soft texture boasts micro-light boosters that guarantee the look of radiant skin — no filters needed!
How I find it: This pressed powder comes with a thin puff that looks extremely cheap to be really honest, I will definitely not use it even if I’m on the go, but I will keep it there just to protect the surface of the pressed powder. I do like to use a big powder brush to apply this as it deposits the product on my skin lightly without moving my foundation. The lady did say that this can be used on its own or over foundation. On its own, this is really sheer coverage, which is good for people with really nice skin to give a nice even finish to the skin and a very sheer natural glow. When you swatch the pressed powder with your fingertips, the powder feels buttery smooth and super duper fine. It almost looks like its got illuminating particles in it because when compared to the Studio Fix powder, that one is definitely much more mattifying. Picking up the product with the powder brush hardly kicks up any dust and it doesn’t look powdery on the skin. If you have a favourite foundation already, this will be a nice pressed powder to set the foundation.
Overall: To be honest, I’m not super impressed with the product, but I remind myself that I know this isn’t a compact foundation, therefore does not have high coverage, also that it is more of a finishing powder which is formulated to look like you are wearing nothing on the skin – it is supposed to look natural and “like your own skin”. So if your skin is not so good to start with, you won’t see a miracle transformation. So bearing in mind that, the product is kind of doing what it promises to do. I am running out of my Rimmel Stay Matte powder, so I will be putting this to goo use for a while and see how I can work it to suit my skin/makeup.
