Where I got it: I was sent this as PR sample (thank you), you can buy this from Farmers, leading pharmacies, Kmart, etc. RRP$32.99.
What I got: This is the Maybelline The Blushed Nudes eyeshadow palette. This 12-shade eye shadow palette features dazzling colors infused with rose gold pigments. From bold beiges and sultry sands to brazen bronzes and tempting taupes, this makeup palette is perfect for creating versatile eye makeup looks.
How I find it: From the back of the palette there are suggestions on how to use these shades – as duos, trios or quads. Duos would be 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, so on. Trios would be 1-3, 4-6, etc. Quads will be 1&2 and 7&8, 3&4 and 9&10, 5&6 and 11&12.
The quality
Only shade 5 is matte, shades 1, 4 and 8 are satin, and all other shades are shimmery. The lighter shades were a little bit less pigmented compared to the darker shades which will require a bit more packing on the colours. They do not kick up much dust, they are not chalky and they blend reasonably well with a brush.
The shades
Shade 1 is a satin finish almost ivory shade, great for the brow bone highlight. Shade 2 is a shimmery champagne pink, great for an accent colour or entire lid shade. Shade 3 is a shimmery cool-toned moss shade, something different than I usually use. Shade 4 is a shimmery light pink, great for all over colour or a highlighting shade. Shade 5 is a matte brownish pink which is the perfect transition colour that suits pretty much the entire palette. Shade 6 is a medium brown with a hint of pink shimmer. Shade 7 is a really pretty shimmery rose gold, perfect for a pop of colour. Shade 8 is a satin dark brown with specks of golden shimmer. Shade 9 is a cool-toned light brown with a silvery sheen finish. Shade 10 is another cool-toned grey with an almost blue/green undertone. Shade 11 is a really pretty shimmery dark pinky red. Shade 12 is a dark blackish brown with pink shimmer.
Overall: This is quite a cute palette with a good number of shades. Some of the shades are quite common in my other eyeshadow palettes, while some are quite different to what I usually have. That’s actually quite good because I get to experiment with different colours and combinations that I usually don’t go for. Shade 3, 9 and 10 has a moss/minty tone that is not something I usually venture into but surprisingly looks quite nice and not too green on my skin. It has enough light and dark shades as well as transition shades. I particularly like shade 3, 7, 9 and 11. One of the downsides is that it doesn’t come with a mirror which is a little inconvenient for an eyeshadow palette.
