Where I got it: I got this from my local Countdown for $8.50. You should be able to find Nivea products from supermarkets, Farmers, leading pharmacies, Kmart, etc. Nivea recently had a promotion going on for their new micellar products (micellar water and micellar wipes) where they are giving full money back for these products via an online claim (with proof of receipt) in a form of a debit card.
What I got: I decided to get the Nivea 3-in-1 Cleansing Micellar Wipes (25 wipes). With the help of the micelles, found in NIVEA Micellar Water, microscopic oil molecules draw and trap dirt, makeup and excess sebum to leave skin feeling cleansed, refreshed and moisturised. Vitamin E then works to respect the skin’s natural moisture balance, ensuring your skin feels wonderfully smooth.
How I find it: I decided to get wipes instead of the micellar water because I find wipes are much more convenient and I can take these away with me in the car, on the plane, etc. I don’t need to bring cotton rounds with me at all. These wipes are supposed to remove makeup as well, including waterproof ones. I always wear waterproof mascara and long-wearing liquid eyeliner if I wear any. Most of the time, I wear a BB cream or a lightweight foundation so this wipe takes off my makeup effectively without harsh rubbing. I do need to concentrate on my lashes and eye area and spend a bit of time there to remove everything. I will use a cotton tip with eye makeup remover for eyeliner because that area needs more precision and care. I need to use 2 wipes to ensure everything is removed and then I will rinse my face. If I use this the mid-afternoon (I like to wash my face during the day to remove makeup if I’m home for the afternoon), I will just rinse my face and apply a hydrating moisturiser. If I use this to remove makeup at night before bed, I will follow this with a proper cleanser.
Overall: The material of the wipe is silky smooth and stretchy. There is enough product so that the wipe is not dripping wet or too dry. However, you can smell the alcohol content in the wipes as soon as you bring it close. Alcohol is quite high up in the ingredients list so I think it’s got quite a lot of alcohol in there which is not something I prefer. I don’t use these cleansing wipes every day, but maybe once or twice a week. I probably won’t purchase this again as it is not too special and I do enjoy using a cleansing balm or cleansing oil more. If you prefer something without alcohol, you can try the micellar water.
