Where I got it: I got this from the Nude by Nature website while they were having a Buy 1 get 1 free promotion which is pretty much half price! However, the fine print did say that the offer does not apply to collections, but the offer code still worked on this collection I got. This set was RRP$49.95 for a $112.60 value.
What I got: This is the Nude by Nature Odyssey Complexion Collection. Create a naturally flawless look with our Award Winning Natural Mineral Cover Foundation that offers lightweight feel, buildable coverage and adapts naturally to skin tones. Finish the look with a touch of radiance using the Sheer Light Illuminator to create points of light to enhance the complexion. The foundation for better skin, for wherever life takes you.
How I find it:Natural Mineral Cover in Medium 4g. First I apply a moisturising primer and any concealer I want to use, then I pour a small amount of powder onto the lid and swirl the kabuki brush that this set comes with. I then turn the brush with the bristles up and tap the base for the product to sink into the brush. Then I buff in circular motions to buff the product in. You need to spend a bit of time and patience to build up coverage and it can be worn sheer or up to medium coverage. The overall look is very natural and almost like I’m not wearing anything. It feels light and soft on the skin, it doesn’t look cakey or thick or powdery on the skin. This little pot is quite a good size for on-the-go touch-up or travelling.
Mineral Finishing Veil 1.5g. To be used to set everything in place, this finishing veil is translucent therefore does not add colour to the overall complexion. It also does not add shimmer. It gives a natural finish to the skin and never a powdery look. You would also use a kabuki brush or a round powder brush to pick this up and apply this on the skin. I like to set everything with a setting spray at the end. Honestly, I can skip this one when I’m wearing a mineral foundation, but would use this when I’m using a liquid or cream foundation to set everything. Virgin Blush 1.5g. The shade of this blush in the pot looks quite dark but considering how sheer this goes onto the skin, it looks very natural. I use a blush brush to pick up the product and lightly tap the excess off and sweep this onto my cheeks. This is quite pigmented but is easily blended out to create a natrual look. This little pot will last me quite a long time. Liquid Mineral Concealer in Medium 2ml. When I first swatched this concealer on the back of my hand, it looks quite dark and has pink undertones so I thought would not suit my skin tone. However, when I blend it out on my skin (especially my undereye area), it actually looks really nice and blends in very well. Not heavy or cakey, it feels moisturising as well. I buff my mineral cover over this and it does not move around of gets rubbed off. Airbrush Mineral Primer 15ml. This is a moisturising primer that has a lotion texture and no silicon-feel at all. It is not oily or greasy and preps the skin well. It gets absorbed quickly and is ready for the mineral cover foundation. I don’t mind using this primer, but it feels more like a lightweight moisturiser to me than a primer that does anything to prep my skin. I personally prefer a blurring or smoothing primer that covers my pores and smooth out any lines I have. Otherwise, I would go for a colour-correcting primer that also provides sun protection. Sheer Light Illuminator 15ml. This is a liquid highlighter with a sheer glow. Used on top of mineral foundation, I squeeze a small amount of the illuminator on my index finger
Overall: I haven’t used mineral makeup in such a long time I have forgotten how easy and lightweight and how natural it looks on the skin. The shade match is pretty spot on and I love how it can be built up for fuller coverage. The blush looks natural as well but needs to be applied with a lighter hand. I’m not very impressed with the mineral veil or the primer nor the concealer as I have other products I like already. The illuminator is quite good as I can use it on its own or mixed into my other liquid foundation. Overall, it was a nice set to try and would definitely purchase the full sized foundation in the future.
