Where I got it: I bought this from my local Life Pharmacy Lancôme counter for NZD$79.00. I have not used a Lancome cleanser for a while now and I got attracted to the packaging the honey ingredient in this cleanser, so I got it to try.
What I got: This is a 200ml bottle of the Lancôme Miel-en-Mousse Foaming Face Cleanser & Makeup Remover. A two-in-one foaming face cleanser and makeup remover with acacia honey. It features a transformative texture for sensorial facial cleansing and makeup removal. Upon application, its honey-like texture captures makeup and impurities, and once emulsified with water, it transforms into a velvety mousse. Your skin is left feeling cleansed and soft.
How I find it: A very interesting texture which is supposed to remove makeup as well as cleanse your face. Apply with dry hands and face, I use 2-3 pumps depending on how heavy my makeup is, then I spread it out between my palms. The honey-like thick gel texture starts to get sticky and turn white. With a bit of massaging on the skin, the cleanser warms up slightly and turns almost like PVA glue (white and thick and sticky). Then with a bit of water in the fingertips, the cleanser turns into a thick velvety consistency to melt everything down. Massage a little bit more and rinse thoroughly.
Overall: After the first time I used it, I rinsed the top of the pump and I think I ruined the entire bottle somehow. It was a clear, liquid honey-like consistency and when I used it for the second time, I only managed to get 1 pump of product out and the pump was really tight. I tip the bottle sideways and the cleanser is no longer runny or translucent, it got a little cloudy and super thick (damn it!). Water must’ve got into the product from the top of the pump and ruined the entire bottle. After a 2 more attempts to pump the product out, I gave up and managed to scoop /squeeze out all the cleanser into a tub (I can’t even pour it into a bottle with a squeeze cap because it was THICK, almost like phlegm – sorry). SIGH!!
However, the cleanser still works besides the change in texture. It did get a little difficult to spread because it pretty much turned into a semi-solidified chunk of gel but when you warm it up and rub it between your hands, it kind of melts (very hard to describe). The cleanser still warms up on my skin and turn velvety when in contact with water. I absolutely love the smell of this cleanser and I can just massage this on my face forever!! It cleanses my face gently leaving my skin feel soft and supple but not dry and tight. I think it would be great for dry, normal to combination skin.
