Where I got it: I got this from eBay for about NZD$23 including shipping, because New Zealand does not have this for sale. I have seen many Beauty gurus on Youtube raving about this mascara and has been said its a dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Personally, I have not tried the Too Faced one and I have too many disappointments in mascaras in the past. My main concern is that almost all mascaras run and smudge on me, even when I don’t rub my eyes. I always go for waterproof mascaras hoping that it would smudge less or even better, no budge at all. Anyway, let’s see how good this mascara is.
What I got: This is the L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara in 203 Black. Take your lashes to paradise with voluptuous volume and intense shine! How I find it: I have heard marvellous things about this mascara for its volumizing claims, longevity, lengthening, etc. you name it. But I noticed that they all talk about the normal formula, not the waterproof formula. So hopefully this one is similar if not the same. I am super picky on the mascara I use and I don’t usually take people’s word for how good and how amazing a mascara is until I’ve worn it myself.
I’m not sure what the cause it for my eye area, but I’m sure many other people suffer the same issues. Mascaras tend to smudge and run under the eye area. Is it due to sweat? oil? I have no idea. But I do notice that when my mascara doesn’t hold up the curl and drops down, the running and smudging tends to be more severe. So I always opt for a more thinner and curling formula so that my lashes don’t drop. I don’t really worry about volumising at the moment.

This mascara has a decent sized wand and immediately I don’t really like it. It is a little too big for my Asian eyes and eyelashes. I have recently used the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama mascara and even though the waterproof formula did smudge on me, I really love the wand. You’ve gotta google and see it. Anyway, I apply two coats and let dry in between and I go by my day! On the second coat, I do see a volumising effect but no lengthening, therefore making my lashes look quite heavy and thick.
Overall: In a nutshell, this is another mascara that smudges on me. The application was alright because the formula was pretty nice, it separates, lengthens and volumises. However, the wand was a little big for my eye shape and lashes. My lashes are also very soft, so they benefit more from silicon bristles than these types of bristles. Besides some smudging under the eyes, the mascara did not flake off, it holds my curls quite well and my lashes look full and fluttery. I will keep using this mascara but I just need to touch up with a q-tip and some eye-makeup remover.
