Where I got it: About a year ago, I was introduced to a bunch of Clarins skincare products and I pretty much fell in love. Then about 8 months ago, I tried some of their makeup products and they were a pleasure to use as well so I have been trying more products from them. They always have amazing gift sets and gift with purchase that are of great value, so make sure next time you want to buy something, wait for their gift with purchase so you get make the most of your purchase. I got this mask along with 2 other lip products (lip oil and lip balm) from Life Pharmacy Botany Town Center while they were having a GWP offer (2 or more with at least 1 to be skincare) and a gift basket draw (if you buy 3 or more products). This mask is RRP$122.00.
What I got: This is a 50ml tub of Clarins Extra-firming Mask. The relaxing anti-ageing mask that helps visibly smooth facial features, diminish the look of tension lines and erase signs of stress and fatigue. It works to restore the skin’s firmness.
Clarins Extra-firming Mask
How I find it: After cleansing, I either tone my face with a toner or spritz my face with a hydrating spray before I apply the mask. You can multi-mask with this product and apply this only to the lower half of your face (chin and jaw-line) where you need the most lift. I would use a clay mask on my t-zone at the same time. The mask has a pretty lavender colour and has a creamy consistency. It has a very pleasant and soothing scent that has aroma-therapeutic effects as well. Apply a decent layer (recommends thick, but this stuff is quite expensive to apply thickly!!) and then leave on for 7-10 minutes while you relax. When the time is up, it recommends giving your face a bit of a massage (you can skip if you wish). Rest your face on your palms with your elbows supported on a table or something for 15secs, then press your fingertips just over the eyebrows for another 15secs, then the temples for another 15secs. It is more of a pressure point massage than a circular motion massage. Then you simply rinse it off.
Clarins Extra-firming Mask
Overall: I love the packaging and look and feel of this product. The purple jar, the lavender creamy mask and the gentle scent of this mask make this already a joy to look at. On the skin, the creamy mask feels great on the skin and dries down to a tacky finish after 10 minutes. It doesn’t dry and make your face feel tight, it just feels like you applied a thick layer of cream and let it dry. It doesn’t have that tightening feeling on the skin nor any dryness. My face feels hydrated and smooth but I can’t really see immediate lifting results. Maybe it’s because I don’t have many wrinkles or loose skin, therefore I can’t see a big difference but I already like how it hydrates my face. Overall, I don’t think I will repurchase this, I’d rather go for a lifting serum instead.
