Where I got it: I got this from my local Life Pharmacy for $35.99. You should be able to find L’Oreal products in Farmers, Life Pharmacy, some Countdowns, etc.
What I got: This is the L’Oréal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation in shade 06 Rose Beige (3rd lightest shade). Comes in a total of 6 shades. From the L’Oreal NZ website: Introducing NEW NUDE MAGIQUE Cushion, a revolutionary foundation that creates a natural healthy glow! The weightless liquid foundation is infused into a cushion compact, providing buildable coverage from light to medium. Your skin feels smooth, soft and hydrated. Use the super-soft, antimicrobial applicator puff provided for the easiest application. Housed in a convenient compact, you can use at home or on the go!
How I find it: This is not my first Cushion foundation from L’Oréal, my first one is actually the True Match Lumi. Anyway, this comes in the same cushion packaging with the applicator and everything. This formulation is supposed to have a dewy glow finish while the other one is a buildable luminous foundation.
Cushion foundations are very common now so I don’t think I need to explain how to use the sponge etc. However, I do like to use a dampened beauty sponge to apply and blend out the foundation because I found that it is easier to pick up the product from the sponge and it is more ergonomic to use a beauty sponge to blend compared to a flat sponge.
Overall: I had a bit of a google search and it seems that the Nude Magique Cushion and True Match Lumi Cushion are very similar. The finish, the claims, etc. are very similar. My guess is that L’Oreal has launched different products in different countries and in New Zealand we get the Nude Magique (elsewhere it is called Nude Magic) and in the US it is called True Match Lumi. This happens very often with brands like L’Oreal and Maybelline for various reasons. Sometimes the US gets a whole new range of products and we either get them like a year later or we never do. Hence you see a lot of beauty gurus and influencers raving about a certain product that you have never heard of and had to get from eBay or something like that (i.e. Lash Paradise Mascara).
Anyway, I do like this cushion foundation in terms of its coverage and finish. It certainly isn’t a long-lasting formula but it is great for everyday wear for me. It looks natural and feels comfortable on the skin. It is easy to touch up on the go but I probably wouldn’t because of hygiene reasons.
