Where I got it: I got this online from NZsale for $. You should also be able to find these in Farmers (available online, but I have not seen these on the shelf in my local Farmers).
What I got: This is the Rimmel London Fresher Skin Foundation SPF15 in 010 Light Porcelain. (There are only 4 shades available on the Farmers website and the Rimmel website. However there appears to be at least 6 elsewhere from other people’s swatches?) Fresher Skin Foundation with SPF 15, light breathable coverage for an even, natural-looking, fresh finish that stays shine-free all day. The skin caring formula features natural mineral powders to help absorb excess oil and control shine throughout the day. The formula with Aloe, Chamomile and Sea Algae Extracts helps to smooth the skin. This natural skin-correcting combo instantly helps to reduce the appearance of redness and visibly improve the appearance of skin tone and texture.
How I find it: Initially I was expecting a mousse or cream texture foundation but when I opened it, it had more of a thick lotion consistency. So I was to tip the little tub on its side for 5-10 seconds, the foundation would also move. Anyway, I really like the texture but would prefer it in a pump bottle for convenience and hygiene reasons. There is a protective lid on top so I would definitely keep that in. I pick up the product with my finger (yes, I should use a spatula or q-tip instead) and dot it all over my face. I started with a light hand to test the coverage. I blend it out with a beauty sponge and it goes on beautifully. The coverage of one layer is really quite sheer but feels fresh and weightless in the skin. The shade I have is actually rather light for my skin tone but with the sheer coverage nature of this foundation, it really doesn’t wash out my skin that much. In fact, I find that it brightens up my skin and gives me a good even skin tone look. It has an amazing, fresh-out-of-the-shower scent which I am quite addicted to (can’t stop sniffing my sponge), but it doesn’t linger on the skin or become overwhelming.
Overall: Love the texture, sheer coverage and finish of this foundation. The down side would be the packaging which I am absolutely not a fan of. The foundation has a nice fresh scent that makes it so pleasant to use. The pale shade of 010 Light Porcelain seems to look alright on my skin (usually MAC NC20) when I blend it out. It just gives me a fresh, brighter look instead of a ghostly pale white face. I would say that Rimmel needs to work on the shade range though, the shades available are way too light for a lot of people and there isn’t much undertone options. This foundation is probably not one of their main foundation ranges hence the lack of shade range, but overall I think Rimmel’s foundations run a bit on the pink side.
