Where I got it: I got this from the Mecca Maxima store in Albany Mega Centre for $18. This is just a travel size product with 2.5ml of product. The full-size 6.8ml concealer is $43. I actually much prefer a smaller tube because of 1. I don’t use much concealer so I am more likely to finish a smaller tube before it expires, 2. $18 is a much better way to spend my money on a concealer I don’t know if it would suit me. 3. It is a much more travel-friendly.
What I got: This is a 2.5ml tube of the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer in Light. Imperfections be gone! Formulated with a blend of colour correctors, this creamy concealer instantly covers blemishes, dark circles and redness for a naturally flawless-looking complexion. This oil-free formula is infused with a blend of hydrating coconut water, radiance-boosting alpine rose and plumping hyaluronic acid to promote your smoothest, most vibrant-looking skin yet.
How I find it: This concealer comes in a small 2.5ml tube with a black lid. The applicator is a normal sized doe-foot applicator. The formula is quite smooth an creamy, not too thick and seems quite pigmented from the swatch. I like how it is not too thick and can be easily blended out without drying the skin out. I usually use concealer for undereye dark circles and not anywhere else (not on blemishes because they tend to dry it out and make it more prominent, and not around my nose because it would always pond around that area and I end up with a white line of concealer gathered around that area). I like to blend it out with a small beauty sponge to get right close to the inner corner, but not too close to the waterline.
I always set the concealer with a bit of translucent powder (Laura Mercier to be exact) with a beauty sponge to bake and then dust it off with a fluffy pointed brush. It makes my undereye area look very smooth.
Overall: Even though the shade range was very limited or the mini/travel sized version (light, medium and dark I think), I think medium was quite a good match for me. It is the right depth in terms of shade, and the neutral undertone looks alright on me, but I would prefer something with a bit of a yellow undertone. Besides the shade match, the formula of this concealer is quite nice. The consistency and coverage are similar to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, but the Too Faced has a slightly more dewy finish. If you have tried the Tarte ShapeTape and find it too thick/matte, you might want to give this a try because it is much more radiant and dewy looking. But ShapeTape is hands down the most full-coverage out of the 3.
