First of all, I missed a post about my Glycolic facial 3 weeks ago which was just a usual facial, nothing really special. I also bought a Murad Pomegranate Pore Extractor Mask.
Alright, so yesterday after work, I head over to Caci clinic for my Collagen Induction treatment. I always love how I am greeted with a smiling face and my facialist is always ready to take me to the treatment room without me waiting for a long time.
I asked her about the numbing option for the Collagen Induction treatment and she told me that it needs to be done by the nurse and it would cost extra (around $20-$30 I think) and I had to allocated extra 30 minutes prior to the Collagen Induction treatment. She said she couldn’t get that done today, but we can book ahead for the next one if I wanted to. She also told me that most clients feel the worse on their first treatment and it gets better. So I bite my lip, clench my fist and pointed my toes and told her I’m ready.
She starts off by removing my makeup and cleanse my skin with a milky cleanser. Then she cleanses my skin with a toner and alcohol wipes to make sure my skin is clean. Then she applied a cooling gel to my forehead and started the machine. The humming nose made me rather nervous and goodness the forehead is the worse and I’m so glad she started from the forehead. After that area is done, she will wipe off the gel with a cotton pad dampened with water. She then moves onto my cheeks, nose and chin. Around 20 minutes, I hear the machine turn off and my body relaxed onto the bed.
She then uses the LED lighting therapy mask on my face for 15 minutes with the red light to help with inflammation and reducing redness. This is quite relaxing and I almost fell asleep. After removing the mask, she applies a light moisturiser and sunscreen on my face to finish everything off.
Immediately, my face is quite red all over. It feels tight and a little tender. I was supposed to head straight home and avoid any sun exposure, but I had mum duties so I went to get some groceries before heading home. Yes, my face looked a little red, but it almost looks like I’ve just had a workout.
After 2 hours, my face is still pinky, especially my forehead and chin. My skin felt a little dry and tight so I sprayed some Avene Thermal Spring Water and some La Roche Posay Serozinc spray over my face to try and hydrate and cool my skin.
At the end of the night, I washed my face with a gentle cleansing milk from Clarins which I felt a little tingle, but that washed away with the cleanser. I used the Avene and La Roche Posay sprays again and my skin felt nice. I tried using a hyaluronic serum from The Ordinary and that did burn a little. I followed with a Lancome moisturiser from the Genefique range and that burn a little as well. I don’t want to use too many products, but I do want to help my skin heal faster so I tried to put a little bit of the La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 balm and that did not sting at all!
On my next post, I will do an update on my skin condition because I don’t want this post to be too long. I will talk about my current skin condition like active hormonal acne, acne scarring, skin firmness, overall skin tone improvement, improvement in dullness, etc. So keep your eyes peeled for the next post in this series of My Reformaskin journey with Caci Clinic!
