Where I got it: I got this from my local Chemist Warehouse (Botany) for $20.99 from $24.99. There is currently only 2 Chemist Warehouse in New Zealand but I do know that some of these new Loreal products will be available in Farmers, Life Pharmacies, etc. At the moment the new range includes a skin tint (4 shades) which is like a tinted moisturiser, powder bronzer (1 shade), a peach-scented blush (peach shade of course!), a liquid highlighter (1 shade) and a 4-shade highlighter palette. I bought the bronzer and the skin tint but I was also interested in the liquid highlighter and the peach-scented blush. However, I already have a tonne of blushes and highlighters, I figured that I would skip those in the meantime.
What I got: This here is the L’Oréal Back To Bronze Gentle Matte Bronzing Powder in 02 Sunkiss. A soft matte bronzer for a summertime ‘tanned’ look all-year – no sun needed! Matte bronzing formula with no shimmer or glimmer, perfect for your no-makeup makeup look.
How I find it: The compact comes with the product on the top compartment and the brush and mirror at the bottom. I personally wouldn’t use the small mirror and brush when I’m applying my makeup at home because it is not how I like to apply my bronzer and it would be rather inconvenient to flip up and down to get the product and look at the mirror. The actual bronzer, however, is a beautifully soft, matte warm bronzer which I really like. I used it for a bit of contouring as well. It is not powdery or chunky, but very smooth and silky to the skin. It’s not too dark and not too light that it doesn’t show up at all.
Overall: Honestly I’ve never had much luck with bronzers. They are either too yellow, too orange or too ashy for me. Sometimes I just don’t want that bronzer look end of story. However, the matte bronzer (no shimmer at all!) looks great on my yellow undertone skin without being too obvious. I like to use it almost as a contouring powder and just sweep it under my cheekbones and around my jaw line to create some shadows. The formula is not powder or soft so it is really easy to work with in a sense that it doesn’t give off too much pigment in one go. You need to layer this bronzer on which is great for a bronzer-newbie like me.
I have been using this non-stop and I have had no trouble of putting too much on my face and the shade suits me perfectly without looking muddy and weird.
i love tanning
