Where I got it: So I have been using the ColourPop No Filter Concealer already and when I know that they are coming out with a liquid foundation, a pressed powder and a loose powder, I wanted to try the entire collection. The foundation is $12, the sheer pressed power is $9, and the loose setting powder is $9.
What I got: The ColourPop No Filter collection consists of the No Filter Liquid Foundation (shade), No Filter Concealer (shade Light 10 and Light 14), Sheer Pressed Powder in Light and Loose Setting Powder in Translucent. There is a total of 42 foundation shades, 3 loose powder shades, 6 pressed powder shades and 30 concealer shades.
How I find it:
No Filter Foundation (shade light 70). Our oil-free, buildable full coverage foundation was formulated with soft blurring pigments to give you a natural matte finish. No filter needed.
The foundation comes in a clear glass bottle with a white plastic pump that you can twist to lock. I’m OK with the packaging, but some people would be more comfortable with an extra lid if they like to travel with it. You can see the exact shade in the glass bottle which is very handy. You don’t really need to shake the bottle up before pumping, but if you have left it sitting around for a while, it is best to shake it up. I use 1 pump for my entire face because I don’t prefer the heavy coverage. The bottle of the box has no instructions on how to apply, but everyone has their preference in foundation application anyway so just do what suits you the most.
For me, I like to use a dampened beauty sponge or a paddle brush to apply the foundation. I would use a sponge for a sheer coverage and natural finish, but use a paddle brush for a more higher coverage and flawless finish. The foundation is not full-on matte, but more of a satin-matte. I had slight issue with this foundation in the first go where it did not sit well on my skin and it was clinging to dry patches and around the side of my nose. I think
No Filter Sheer Pressed Powder (Light). Get easy, on-the-go, fresh and flawless skin with this oil-absorbing, sheer buildable pressed powder compact.
Honesty, I’m not big on pressed powder, I prefer loose powders. First of all, I hardly do touch-ups on the go because that would usually ruin my makeup and make me look super-cakey. Secondly, I find that they are usually either quite pigmented which adds coverage or does nothing to my face. However, this sheer pressed powder is quite nice. I use this to set my foundation (no under eye area, I use a loose setting powder) with a big fluffy brush. It is not powdery and doesn’t kick up much dust so it doesn’t make my face look cakey. The shade light suits me perfectly.
No Filter Loose Setting Powder (translucent). Smooth, weightless loose powder sets makeup for all day wear without creasing, caking, or flashback.
The loose powder has a light beige tone to it from the little container but it’s said to be translucent on the skin. It is a sheer powder and it’s very finely milled too so I’m not too worried about it adding extra coverage. The shade matches my foundation so it’s not making my skin any lighter or darker.
Overall: After trying out the range of No Filter products by ColourPop, I would say that my favourite would have to be the Loose Setting Powder, then the No Filter Foundation. Mainly because the Loose Setting powder is so finely milled and it sets my makeup really nicely with a smooth velvety finish. It doesn’t add coverage of lighten/darken my foundation at all. Would definitely repurchase this.
As for the foundation, initially I was a little confused with the foundation because the first time I used it, I must’ve done something wrong or my skin was acting up. I could not get the foundation to sit properly on my skin and it was just hanging around my dry areas and around my nose. On second try, I paid a little more attention to the primer I used and I made sure I apply thin layers and build up if I need to. I find that you can’t use too much product, otherwise, it doesn’t blend well. After figuring out how to use it properly, the foundation looked really nice on my skin and stayed on my face for a good number of hours as well.
The concealer and pressed powders weren’t bad, but I’m not 100% into them. The concealers were a little drying on my skin and looked a little cakey no matter how much eye cream I applied beforehand. I don’t want to load up on oily products under my eye area because my skin is prone to congestion, so I need to use this sparingly and thinly around my eye area. As for the pressed powder, it is convenient, but I hardly touch-up on the go so I prefer the loose powder instead.
such a nice post
