Where I got it: I recently visited Mecca Cosmetica in New Market to check out some the new Hourglass cosmetics Retouching Fluid and I was just casually swatching everything else. This blush popped up and caught my eyes. These Ambient Blushes are $ each and are available in stores at Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima and online.
What I got: This is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat. A sweep of one these radiant marbled blushes on the apples of the cheeks and skin is instantly reinvented. This innovative formulation combines the cutting-edge luminescence technology of the iconic Ambient Lighting Powder with a selection of vivid hues for the cheeks. The result is a collection of revolutionary hybrid product that adorns cheeks with a lightweight luminous glow for a lust-worthy multi-dimensional complexion. These handmade powders are developed using an advanced Miscelare technique, which allows for the perfect balance of pigment and powder, set in a unique marble finish that no two look-alikes.
How I find it: I am already a big fan of their Ambient Lighting Powders, I am very impressed with how finely milled their powder products are and how they look so flawless on the skin without being powdery or looking cakey. Their ambient lighting powders add a really subtle glow that almost blurs the skin of imperfections.
Anyway, back to the blush here. From the pan, the blush looks like a bright pink with pale champagne marble. Each blush shade has a different marble pattern, therefore, each product would be slightly different depending on how much marbling you have. From a finger swatch, the blush looks pigmented but not chalky. With a brush swatch, the blush looks natural and is easily blended for a diffused look. Pigmentation is never heavy on one spot if you blend it out unless you want it to.
Overall: Love, love LOVE this blush! The formula is absolutely stunning and superior. I truly think Hourglass products are worth their prices. This blush has pigmentation, but are super blendable so I don’t need to worry about having one heavy spot of blush and I can’t blend it out. You only need a gentle swipe over the product, then directly onto the cheeks. If you like to load up on the brush, do a few swipes and then tap off the excess (I personally find this is a waste of product!). Diffused Heat looks pretty intense in the pan but in real life, you can, by all means, build up the intensity layer by layer. The above swatch is with my fingers which is always more intense compared to a brush swatch.
If you can, test these blushes out at an Hourglass counter to see the results on the back of your hand. It is not chalky or powdery at all and the natural flushed glow on your cheeks just looks amazing. Highly recommend!
This is lovely. Guess I will check it out in any beauty shop. Thanks for posting this.
