Where I got it: About 2 months ago, a friend of mine went to a L’Oreal friends and family sale and scored heaps of makeup and skincare at very good prices. She accidentally grabbed 2 of the same shade of a YSL lip product and asked if I would be interested. She offered this to me for $22 and I said yes! You can find this in any YSL counters like in Farmers or Smith & Caughey for RRP$70.

How I find it: From the little window on the tube, it looked rather dark and bold – not something I would wear on a daily basis for work, but would be great for a night out or an event. My first test swatch was on the back of my hand (photo below is the first time I swatched this beauty), and it looked really really gorgeous! It is a vibrant pinky fuchsia that is not too intimidating. The applicator has a pointy tip for a more precise application around the edged of the lips and the cupids bow area and the rest of the applicator has a bit of a flat side to blend the colour to the rest of the lips. The applicator holds the right amount of product without needing to dip the wand back in.

The formula is really smooth like a cream but fresh and cooling like a gel! It is not sticky whatsoever and it feels so comfortable on the lips. This is a lip stain formula, therefore, I would expect a bit of colour on my lips even when this totally rubs off or wears out. This is by no means a long-wearing formula so the creaminess and glossiness will wear off but it will leave a beautiful stain behind.

Overall: I was really impressed with the intensity of the stain it left on my lips and on the back of my hand! The two photos above show the creamy lip stain applied and pretty much wiped off within 1 minute. See the stain that is left on my skin? That is crazy! If you are not prepared to have really stained lips (or hand), don’t apply this anywhere you don’t want it to stain. I tried to remove it with a lip and eyeliner bi-phase makeup remover and was only able to remove like 80% of it. The rest, I had to let it just wear off.
