Where I got it: I was at Farmers looking at the new Shiseido makeup collection when I saw the new Milani cosmetics stand in the middle of the store. Farmers online has been stocking these for a while but I wanted to test out the shades before committing to buy so, just my luck they are now available in stores! The Amour Matte Lip Cremes comes in 20 shades and are RRP$18.99 each.
What I got: Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in 25 Allure. It’s time to put your lipsticks on notice. The Amore Matte Lip Crème has arrived. This revolutionary, highly saturated liquid-to-matte formula dries to a soft, velvety finish for fuller-looking lips. Its double-sided, flexible plush applicator hugs the contours of lips, working to lock in bold, opaque colour. Non-sticky, smooth and ready for all-night wear (up to 16 hours!) our Amore Matte Lip Crème is the ultimate transfer resistant kiss-me-matte.
How I find it: I swatched a few shades out at the stand and decided this is a beautiful shade that would suit my skin tone and it’s not too bright or bold and not too nude/pale that would make me look washed out. The pigmentation is superior and the formula is not streaky and very creamy when applied.
However, while it is drying, I can feel the formula drying on my lips. The lip Creme dries up relatively quick and you can really feel the dryness on your lips. It does accentuate lines on the lips but it’s not really that bad. I have tried better liquid lips before though.
Overall: First of all, I love the packaging and the shade I chose is beautiful on the swatch and on the lips. I think the shade is true to the tube so what you see is what you get. However, the formula is not very impressive. It was quite drying and felt quite uncomfortable during the day. I tried using a Milani lip topper and it got worse. The mixture of a dry liquid lip and chunky glitter was very hard to bear.
Ok, I tried it a couple of times again and was a little bit more successful. It still dries down quite crackly on the lips and it tends to rub off in little bits so that’s not really ideal. I love the shade and everything but I probably won’t get more shades.
