Where I got it
I ordered a bunch of K-beauty products on YesStyle recently and they are mostly Peripera products. I have used their products before (lips and colour-correctors) and they are pretty good. Their packaging is ever so cute, they smell great and they seem have really gorgeous textures. This particular Peripera Ink Gelato lip product is from the Pink Moment Collection. I’m not sure what other collections they have, but you should be able to find these on eBay, Hikoco (if you are in Auckland), Yes Style has a good collection, etc. Peripera is a pretty big brand so you will see a lot of their products pop up where K-beauty products are available. I got this from YesStyle for NZD$10.98.
What I got
This is a 3.5g bottle of the Peripera Ink Gelato (pink moment collection) in #12 Mixberry Yogurt Pink (Light purple pink as on YesStyle.com). This is part of a 2018 fall/winter collection that also comes in 4 other shades. It is a gelato-inspired elastic, creamy texture with a rich colour payoff. It effortlessly melts into lips with an airy finish. No transfer. This is the darkest shade of the collection and they are all orangey pinks and berry reds.
How I find it
First of all, I love the cute packaging with most of Peripera’s lip products. They look like a little bottle with a dropper, but it is actually a screw top lid with a doe-foot applicator. The applicator is slightly slanted and curved to hug to lips for effortless and smooth application. I seriously find the application of this lip product so easy without having to go over areas or be extra careful.
The texture is also something to die for. It almost feels like putting a moisturiser on the lips but it has an almost smoothing and mattifying effect. It smoothes the lines on my lips and leaves this petal-soft look. The colour payoff is rich as it claims and I love the shade on my skintone.
It does have a slight scent when you pull the applicator out of the bottle, and it smells exactly like Too Faced Peach Frost highlighter I recently reviewed. The fragrance does not linger on long to become a nuisance although I would like it to stay on longer because I love the smell of it.
So there are ways to apply this lip product. 1. you can simply apply this as an overall colour and just give it an even coat. 2. apply it to the centre of your lips and blend it outwards to create a gradient lip look that is really sought-after in K-beauty. Both styles are easily achievable with this formula and would look amazing. I have even used this as a blush as it blends out seamlessly and does not leave a glossy finish.
Overall
This is not my first lip product from Peripera, but this is by far my favourite in terms of texture, colour payoff, ease of use, etc. The only thing that might be a little disappointing for some people is that it is not long-lasting. It does leave a light stain on the lips, but not as intense as the original lip colour. I will definitely try more of Peripera’s lip products and possibly try another colour from the Ink Gelato range as well!
