Where I got
I first saw this at the Sylvia Park Mecca Maxima store and I was quite interested because of its price and its versatility. This cute little palette comes in 2 other shades and is $31. I picked this one out of the 3 because it has that blue eyeshadow and that shimmery gold colour. I think with a palette like this, it is really good value.
What I got
This is the Mecca Max 5 Minute Perfect Palette in Glow Off. From the meccabeauty.co.nz website: For go-to glam in 5 minutes flat, these palettes contain all you need for a subtle to a bold makeup look. Each palette contains 4 eyeshadows, bronzer, blush and lip & cheek cream. Glow Off offers that X-factor in a flash – featuring golden tones for an effortless glow and feminine flush, with a pop of cobalt for a new take on trend.
How I find it
First of all, I love the packaging of this palette, it wastes no space between pans and the face pans are of decent size for brushes to dip in. The bronzer is the biggest, and the 2 cheek products – 1 cream and 1 powder on the right. The 4 eyeshadow shades are of equal size with 3 powders and 1 cream. It also has a large mirror, but you will need to bring your own brushes.
In regards to the formula and colours, the bronzing powder is a really nice shade for my skin tone as it’s not too dark and it is not shimmery. The powder blush at the bottom right is a lighter pink which is a little too pale for my skin tone, but I use it as a base shade for my eyes. The cream lip/blush has a creamy texture and the colour looks quite nice on my cheeks, but it is too pale for my lips.
The 4 eyeshadows starting from the cobalt blue. This beautiful deep blue looks amazing in the pan but it will need some eyeshadow primer to keep this vibrancy on the lids because I did run into a bit of problem getting this wonderful bright blue onto my eyes. The dark brown to the right is a matte outer corner shade or a liner shade which can be very versatile. The shimmery champagne under that is beautiful in the pan, on the swatch and on my eyes. The last one is the creamy bronze
Overall
I reach for this palette a lot as I love the eyeshadow shades and the lighter blush shade at the bottom right. The formulas of all the products are really high quality and easy to use. It’s pigmented, but very blendable. The cobalt shade needs a bit of primer or a dampened brush to intensify the brightness of the blue.
I probably won’t purchase the other 2 palettes as the colours are not very appealing or special to me, but definitely give this palette a try if you are interested in these Mecca Max palettes!
