Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway SPF 50 PA++++

Where I got it

I was sent this for review as part of the Althea Angels program I’m in (refer to my previous post here). These are for sale on the Althea website and on their app as well for USD$10.00.

What I got

This is a 55ml bottle of the Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway sunscreen with SPF50 PA++++. From the althea website: Shield your skin from the sun’s rays and give it some petal protection with Althea’s Petal Velvet Sunaway! Ultra lightweight, this invisible sunscreen is formulated with hyaluronic acid and Damask rose extracts, ensuring that your skin stays fresh and hydrated throughout the day without any streakiness or a white cast. It has an SPF of 50+ and PA++++, so your skin will be kept protected all day. As part of the Petal Velvet line, it also contains micro-powder particles that give you a smooth, petal-like complexion.

How I find it

I apply sunscreen every single day and even when I wash my face in midday because I believe sunscreen is the best prevention to pre-mature ageing, discolouration and general oxidation of the skin. I apply sunscreen right after moisturiser and before any primers and foundations. It is my #1 requirement for the sunscreen to be lightweight and not sticky or thick because I need to apply a good generous layer to ensure good protection. SPF50 is great and with PA++++, this is the highest SPF protection I use.

Overall

I love this sunscreen, it has an ultra-light texture and is really fluid as well. It does not leave a white cast. The product does not leave a powdery finish, but a natural moisturiser-like finish. It does not feel sticky or thick on the skin and it has a light fresh floral scent to it. I absolutely love this and I would definitely repurchase because this is only USD$10! Althea often does free shipping if you purchase their Althea Exclusive products, so that makes it so much easier! Do check this one out and I also recommend their loose powders as well which is very finely milled and great for setting makeup as well!

I am also trying out their new Milk Peeling Cream Mask which is so darn cute as well. So far, I really like it and it has moved to the top of my vanity so I can reach for it easily! Review will be out soon!
